The techniques described herein improve an item (e.g., photo) sharing experience on mobile devices. In one embodiment, an application presents items in a stacked configuration and receives swipe-based touch gestures that reflect user intent with regard to whether or not a photo is to be shared to a network destination. After a directional swipe occurs on the top-most item, the next item in the stacked configuration is displayed for a next directional swipe. This process is repeated until all the items in the stacked configuration have been displayed to the user. In another embodiment, the application receives a continuous user gesture that traverses a set of photos laid out in a grid configuration. When performing the continuous user gesture, whether or not the user pauses on a photo reflects a user intent with regard to whether or not the photo is to be shared to a network destination.

A system for providing customized merchandise to a user at an entertainment venue via a user computer device has a machine readable tag encoding an address, and a fulfillment computer having a printer. The machine readable tag is located at the entertainment venue. A computer memory of the fulfillment computer stores executable code that enables the fulfillment computer to perform a process having the following steps: receiving a request from the user computer device generated by capturing the machine readable tag with a camera of the user computer device; uploading at least one photograph from the user computer device; collecting payment for the customized merchandise; printing the selected photograph on the selected style of the customized merchandise; and delivering the customized merchandise to the user.

A computer-implemented method for recommending at least one substrate to be used in conjunction with a digital image to form a print product includes: providing a digital image; providing a list of available substrates stored in a memory; utilizing a processor, allowing for the selection of at least one of a size of substrate to be used to form a print product or a display location for the print product; automatically identifying at least one substrate from the list of available substrates utilizing the processor based on at least one of the selected substrate size or the selected display location; displaying the identified at least one substrate on a display; and allowing for the selection of the identified at least one substrate for fulfillment to produce the print product including the digital image disposed on the selected at least one substrate.

A computer-implemented method programmed for execution in a computing environment for recommending at least one size and type of substrate to be used in conjunction with a digital image to form a print product includes: providing a digital image; providing a list of available substrates stored in a memory; utilizing a processor, analyzing the digital image to identify image content included in the digital image; utilizing the processor, automatically selecting at least one size of substrate to be used to form a print product based on the identified image content; automatically identifying at least one type of substrate from the list of available substrates utilizing the processor based on at least one of the selected at least one size of substrate or the identified image content; and displaying the identified at least one type of substrate and the selected at least one size of substrate on a display.
