A system prints solid ink images on fibrous objects. The controller of the system is configured to operate a first motor to move an object rotating subsystem to and from a position opposite a plurality of printheads, to operate a second motor to rotate an object on a spindle of the object rotating subsystem at the position opposite the plurality of printheads, to operate a forced air heater to direct heated air onto a surface of the object as the object rotates at the position opposite the plurality of printheads, and to operate the plurality of printheads to eject a solid ink marking material onto the heated surface of the object as the object rotates in the first and/or second rotational direction. The solid ink image is affixed to the object by the heating of the object surface alone.

A system for printing images on an object, the system including, a housing, a rod driven by a first motor, an object rotating subsystem positioned about the rod and arranged for reciprocal movement, an object rotating subsystem that includes a spindle and a second motor connected to the spindle and configured to rotate the object in a first rotational direction or a second rotational direction. The system further including a vacuum source connected to the spindle, a plurality of printheads, a curing lamp, and a controller connected to the plurality of printheads, the first motor, the second motor, the curing lamp, the controller configured to operate the first motor, the second motor, the plurality of printheads, and the curing lamp, wherein the plurality of printheads are configured to eject a first marking material onto the object and the second motor rotates the object in the first or second rotational direction.

A method of automatically producing a book is disclosed. The book is generated from a database of source content items. As an example, a content item may be a cookery recipe. Typically, the source content items have been created for presentation on the web. The method includes the steps of processing the source content items to create publishable content items, allowing the user to select content items according to criteria, and then iteratively applying templates to the selected content items to optimize a print layout associated with each content item. The print layouts may be composed into a book, which may be automatically printed and sent to the user or to the user's order.

A method for ordering a print product comprises displaying a video that includes an exhibited physical product; comparing a feature or attribute associated with the exhibited product with a feature or attribute associated with the available product; displaying a digital overlay in the video and in association with the displayed exhibited product if the displayed exhibited product corresponds to the digital representation of the available product; allowing for the selection of the digital overlay and then a digital image; establishing a print order including an identification of the displayed exhibited product associated with the selected digital overlay and the selected digital image; and allowing for the fulfillment of the print order to produce a print product using a printing device, wherein the print product includes the selected digital image disposed on a selected physical product representative of the displayed exhibited product associated with the selected digital overlay.

A heat transfer bonding system and method of use in which heat transfers may be prepared using an interface, printed using a printer in a manner that preserves the spacing that the heat transfer is intended to have on an article to which it will be applied, and applied using a bonding system such as an automated heat press. Various aspects of the heat transfer, such as color, may be customized via the interface. Such a system may allow for the rapid application of customized heat transfers to garments in a manner that allows garment customization systems to be deployed to retail stores such that customers can prepare a customized garment while they wait.

A method and apparatus for managing multiple views of graphics data. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a display operable to display a graphical user interface (GUI); multi-view generation logic coupled to the display to select, using the GUI, a plurality of images for a plurality of views that are to appear on a product and to generate a multi-view graphics file containing multiple views; and a graphics rendering module to generate a two-dimensional (2-D) view on the display for use in printing on a 2-D printer and to generate a three-dimensional (3-D) graphical representation of the product on the display, the graphics rendering module being responsive to an input to display different portions of the 3-D graphical representation of the product.
