A method and system for organizing slides by analyzing content and offering alternative solutions for placing content on the slides in an effective and visually interesting organization is provided. The presentation application automatically generates alternative design suggestions for the provided content that effectively utilize the slide space pursuant to analytics performed on the content. Providing alternative design suggestions for organizing content on a slide assists in quickly and easily creating presentations that effectively utilize slide space.

A photo design smart assistant system for reducing similar photos for display and product design includes a similarity distance computation module that can calculate hash values of images and to calculate similarity distances between the images using at least the hash values, a burst grouping module that can automatically group the images into a burst based at least in part on the similarity distances of the images, wherein at least one image is automatically selected from the burst of images, an intelligent design creation engine that can automatically create a photo product design using the selected image from the burst, and a printing and finishing facility that can automatically make a physical photo product based on the photo product design.

According to an embodiment, when authoring an IMP, a designer may utilize an authoring tool to edit the visual and audio content associated with particular nodes. Further, in an embodiment, a designer may utilize an authoring tool to manipulate blocks corresponding to nodes of the IMP. For example, the authoring tool may include a library of stencils that the designer can utilize to create blocks corresponding to nodes of the IMP. In an embodiment, a designer may link the blocks to create a flow or tree establishing an ordered relationship between the blocks. A set of rules and/or facts may be generated based on the blocks and the designed flow. During IMP presentation, a rules engine may operate to activate nodes of the IMP based on the generated rules and/or facts.

A computer system edits a first electronic slide deck by reusing content from a second electronic slide deck, the electronic slide decks containing first and second sequences of slides respectively. The computer system identifies at least a second of the slides of the second electronic slide deck as a candidate for insertion in the first electronic slide deck by identifying the second slide as having a target positional relationship with a first slide of the first electronic slide deck. In response to the user accepting a suggestion to insert the second slide into the first slide deck, a version of the second slide is inserted into the first slide deck at a position in the first sequence that is determined automatically by the computer system.

In a method for seamlessly providing information, a presentation is identified. Each of at least some presentation nodes is selectively activated or not activated for a particular instance of the presentation, and corresponds to respective content assets to be presented if the node is activated. A first node sequence to be activated for an instance of the presentation is determined. First content to be at least partially presented during a first portion of the instance is identified based on the first node sequence, and sent to a client device. A message indicating when the client device is ready for additional content is received, and a second node sequence to be activated for the instance is determined. Second content that is to be at least partially presented during a second portion of the instance is identified based on the second node sequence, and sent to the client device.

Methods and apparatus for managing a joint slide show by a source user terminal in communication with one or more remote user terminal(s) are disclosed herein. During the slide show, a plurality of picture files are shown on the source user terminal. One or more slide-show display-transitions are performed at the source user terminal by replacing, at a slide-show display-location of the source user terminal, a pre-transition picture file with a post-transition picture file. In some embodiments, (i) for each slide-show display-transition, a respective post-transition picture file is sent from the source terminal to each remote user terminal in advance of the slide-show display-transition and/or (ii) each of the slide-show display-transitions is contingent upon, and performed only after meeting a condition related to a number of remote user-terminals from which the source terminal has received a confirmation message confirming receipt of the respective post-transition picture file.

A computer-implemented method for automatically displaying variable image content in an image product includes automatically obtaining markers in photos or videos in a user account which includes detecting features in image content of the photos or the video frames and obtaining a marker for one of the photos or the video frames, automatically identifying a sequence of similar photos or videos if the markers detected in the photos or the associated video frames include more than a predetermined number or percentage of common features, detecting a marker in a photo product by a user device when the photo product is viewed by the user device, identifying a marked photo incorporated in the photo product based on the marker detected in the photo product, and enabling photos or videos in a sequence photos or videos associated with the marked photo to be displayed on the user device.
