Provided is technology that improves user convenience. A scanning system includes a scanner that generates scanning data by scanning a document, and a management device that connects to the scanner, and processes the scanning data based on settings corresponding to a user authenticated by a first user authentication when the scanner executes a first user authentication process. The scanning system executes a first process of scanning a document without first user authentication by the scanner, and storing the generated scanning data in storage; a second process of, when second user authentication is executed, identifying the scanning data to process from the scanning data stored in the storage; and a third process of processing the scanning data to process based on settings related to the user authenticated by the second user authentication.

There is provided a control method for a data processing system, the control method including: registering connection destination information for accessing a cloud service; storing in a storage unit, for each user, information indicating whether or not to allow use of the cloud service; authenticating a user; determining, on the basis of the information stored in the storage unit, whether or not the user authenticated in the authenticating is allowed to use the cloud service; and displaying no object for transmitting data to the cloud service by using the connection destination information when the user is determined in the determining to not be allowed to use the cloud service, and displaying an object for transmitting data to the cloud service by using the connection destination information when the user is determined in the determining to be allowed to use the cloud service.

An image forming apparatus which can prevent from automatically deleting, without user's intention, a box document restored from another image forming apparatus. A document storage deadline is set with respect to a folder thereof for storing box documents so as to set, as a target to be deleted from the folder, a box document having been stored in the folder over the document storage deadline. When it is determined that one of the box documents stored in the folder is a restored document, the one of the box documents is controlled to be excluded from the target.

Methods and apparatus for validating paper forms are provided. A node can receive paper-form data from a paper form that has first and second data items (DIs). The node can: determine first and second metadata for the first and second DIs respectively, determine respective first and second validation entities (VEs) to validate respective values of the first and second DIs based on the respective first and second metadata, where the first and second VEs can differ, provide a user interface (UI) including a display of the first DI, receive a validation status for the first DI via the first UI from the first VE, select a first distributed storage system (DSS) associated with the first DI, and record the value of the first DI and the validation status in the first DSS. The node can generate an output related to the paper-form data based on the first DSS.

A reading device includes an imaging element and correcting circuitry. The imaging element is configured to receive light from an object selectively irradiated with visible light or invisible light. The correcting circuitry is configured to apply correction processing based on a difference in an optical characteristic between an invisible light region and a visible light region to an image signal in the invisible light region output from the imaging element and output the image signal corrected.

A communication apparatus communicates with an external apparatus, and executes instructions to set, as a transmission destination, at least one of first transmission destinations included in a first address book stored on the communication apparatus and second transmission destinations included in a second address book stored on the external apparatus, display detail information of the set transmission destination, and receive an instruction via a registration button to register the transmission destination in the first address book, when at least one of the second transmission destinations is set as the transmission destination and the set transmission destination is usable in the communication apparatus. According to the received instruction, the set transmission destination is registered in the first address book, and electronic data is transmitted to the set transmission destination. When the set transmission destination is unusable in the communication apparatus, registration using the registration button is not performed.

An information processing apparatus capable of managing an object to which a print queue for instructing execution of processing on an image processing apparatus is allocated is configured to determine whether an image processing apparatus corresponding to a print queue allocated to an object managed by another information processing apparatus is identical with an image processing apparatus corresponding to a print queue registered in the information processing apparatus, and, in a case where it is determined that the image processing apparatuses are identical with each other, to make a setting for allocating the print queue registered in the information processing apparatus to an object to be displayed on the information processing apparatus.

An image forming apparatus includes a communication interface, a display, and a controller configured to, when the image forming apparatus is remotely connected with an information processing device via the communication interface, transmit, to the information processing device, screen data for causing the information processing device to display a screen corresponding to a display screen being displayed on the display, when receiving remote access from the information processing device, perform display processing for the display screen in accordance with the remote access, and when the remote access is received while a particular screen is being displayed as the display screen on the display, impose a display restriction on the display screen.

An image-reading apparatus includes an image-reader and a controller. The controller is configured to perform: controlling the image-reader to execute: (a1) reading a first set of original documents; and (a2) generating read data sets indicating images on the original documents in the first set; transmitting the read data sets generated by the (a2) generating to an information-processing apparatus; counting a remaining period until a specific time, the specific time being a time when a first period elapses from a predetermined time after completing the (a2) reading; transmitting the counted remaining period to the information-processing apparatus; controlling, in response to receiving a specific signal before the specific time, the image-reader to execute: (e1) reading a second set of original documents; and (e2) generating read data sets indicating images on the original documents in the second set; and transmitting the read data sets generated by the (e2) generating to the information-processing apparatus.

An image processing apparatus includes a display capable of accepting designation of a destination of an e-mail, a transmitter/receiver capable of transmitting and receiving the e-mail, a job executor that executes a job via the e-mail, and a controller that acquires destination information of the e-mail to be sent as the job from received information of the received e-mail, and displays the acquired destination information on the display.
