A photographic processing system in which subject and other data is stored and such data is automatically linked to photographs taken using either a film or digital camera.

A mobile printer for use with a piece of paper includes a computer memory, a processor in data communication with the computer memory, an input device in data communication with the processor, a housing configured to rest atop the paper, a carriage located inside the housing, carriage actuators for moving the carriage adjacent the paper, a scanning device coupled to the housing and positioned to obtain existing-indicia information, and a printing unit coupled to and movable with the carriage. The scanning device and the carriage actuators are in data communication with the processor. The printing unit includes an output nozzle and a supply passage for supplying ink from a reservoir to the output nozzle. Programming causes the scanning device to obtain the existing-indicia information, the computer memory to store the obtained existing-indicia information, the carriage actuators to selectively move the carriage, and the ink to pass from the output nozzle.

A central system for receiving captured transaction data from a plurality of remote capture devices over a network, the remote capture devices including a mobile device type and a fixed location device type, the system comprising: a receipt module to receive the captured transaction data; a processing module to process the received captured transaction data; and a storage module to store the processed transaction data such that characteristic data of the mobile device type is associated with the stored transaction data for said processed transaction data originating from a remote capture device of the mobile device type.

A first advertise signal from a first external apparatus is received. A connection request is transmitted to the first external apparatus in response to the received first advertise signal. A connection is established with the first external apparatus, and a predetermined function is executed by using the established connection. In a case where the first advertise signal is received and an error relating to the predetermined function occurs before a connection with the first external apparatus is established, a connection request is transmitted to the first external apparatus to establish a connection with the first external apparatus and transmits a notification indicating that the error occurred.

The processor performs specific control in accordance with operation of the first operation member.
