Printing system including printing device having reading function and data processing server performing payment-related process related to fee
A printing system includes: a printing device; and a data processing server. A first controller of the printing device is configured to perform: a reading process to read a reading target to generate image data; a determination process to determine whether to transmit the image data to the data processing server according to at least one of available capacity information and capacity-related information; and a data transmission process to transmit the image data to the data processing server. A second controller of the data processing server is configured to perform: a payment-related process related to a fee payment for printing based on the image data. The first controller is configured to further perform, after the fee payment is completed: an acquisition process to acquire print data corresponding to the image data; and a printing process to form an image corresponding to the print data on a printing medium.
Transfer of print queues via machine readable codes
A printing device is disclosed. For example, the printing device includes a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive selections for settings of a print job, save the selections as a print queue, and generate a machine readable code that contains the selections for the print queue.
Image capture apparatus and method for controlling the same
An image capture apparatus displays a live view image that is based on an acquired image, stores image data that is based on the acquired image, and acquires additional information associated with a predetermined subject included in the live view image. The image capture apparatus superimposes the additional information on the live view image and displays the resulting image before the image data is stored, and stores the image data and the acquired additional information in association with each other.
Printer acting as host for device printers/scanners
A method of pairing a handheld printer/scanner device with a barcode printer acting as the host is disclosed. The pairing will further enhance the functionality of the host barcode printer. Specifically, the pairing process is initiated when a printer process that requires a handheld printer/scanner device is initiated. The method enables a handheld printer/scanner device to print to a host barcode printer, and also enables the host barcode printer to receive a barcode scan of the case label of received food items and retain information from the barcode scan for future printing of food freshness labels.
System and method using matrix barcode information to process documents
A system and a method using matrix barcode information to process documents are provided. A document-processing apparatus generates matrix barcode information and establishes a wireless link with a mobile apparatus through the matrix barcode information. When the document-processing apparatus establishes the wireless link with the mobile apparatus, the document-processing apparatus creates a file transfer zone, performs a corresponding automatic document-processing action, such as scanning or printing, according to a driving command received from the mobile apparatus, and exchanges the generated image information with the mobile apparatus through the file transfer zone. Given the matrix barcode information, the document-processing apparatus can be directly controlled by the mobile apparatus to achieve direct information exchange and enhanced efficiency and security of the document-processing system.
Communication system, communication apparatus, method of controlling the same, and storage medium
A technique by which it is possible to prevent a user inputting mistake from occurring when writing, from a communication apparatus (communication terminal) to a wireless communication tag (NFC tag), connection information for connecting to a printing apparatus (image forming apparatus) is provided. The image forming apparatus converts connection information for connecting to the image forming apparatus by a WLAN scheme into a corresponding image pattern, and displays the image pattern on a display unit. A communication terminal photographs the image pattern displayed on the display unit by a camera. The communication terminal restores the corresponding connection information from the image pattern photographed by the camera, and generates NDEF data based on the restored connection information. The communication terminal writes the generated NDEF data to the NFC tag by NFC communication.
MEDIA CHARACTERISTIC SCANNING
An example marking device may include a sensing device, a media conveyance component, and a controller. The sensing device may be arranged in a media path to sense data encoded on media. The media conveyance component may feed a medium into the media path and advance the medium a first distance less than a length of the medium. And the controller may receive timing signals indicative of read timing markings from the sensing device, receive data signals indicative of media characteristic markings from the sensing device, and alter marking parameters of the marking device based on the to be received data signals.
Methods, apparatuses, and systems for providing print quality feedback and controlling print quality of machine readable indicia
A printer-verifier system for providing print quality feedback and controlling print quality is provided. The printer-verifier system may include a printing mechanism configured to print a machine-readable indicia on a print media; a verifier device configured to optically scan the machine-readable indicia; and a print quality monitoring device in electronic communication with the printing mechanism and the verifier device.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM FOR CHARACTERIZING AN OPTICAL SYSTEM
Techniques for characterizing an optical system (for example, a printer verifier) are provided. In this regard, the optical system may be characterized for scanning a printed image. The characterization of the optical system includes determining an effective aperture size of the optical system, and correspondingly an effective resolution at which the optical system can be configured to scan a portion of the printed image according to verification requirements.
SYSTEM, SERVER, AND READING APPARATUS
A reading apparatus comprises: an upload unit that uploads to a server a scanned file; and a display control unit that obtains an access code which is generated and for accessing an upload destination of the scanned file and displays the generated access code on a display unit. A portable terminal comprises: a reading unit that reads the displayed access code; an access unit that obtains information indicating an upload destination of the scanned file based on the reading and, using the obtained information, accesses the upload destination; and a download unit that downloads the scanned tile from the upload destination. The information indicating the upload destination of the scanned file includes authentication information related to an access of the upload destination of the scanned file.
