An image processing apparatus includes an area extracting unit and a table image detecting unit. The area extracting unit is configured to extract halftone dot areas and character images in an image. The table image detecting unit is configured to detect the extracted halftone dot areas as a table image if (a) the extracted halftone dot areas include no ruled lines, (b) plural halftone dot areas among the extracted halftone dot areas are arrayed in a primary scanning direction and/or a secondary scanning direction, and (c) the arrayed plural halftone dot areas include the character images at at least two positions.

An image scanning device includes a detector and a setter. The detector scans an image in units of pages, and detects a code image included in the image in units of pages. When the detector detects the code image on one page and then detects the code image on another page, the setter sets a scanning area on a subsequent page following the other page in accordance with a position of the code image detected on the one page and a position of the code image detected on the other page.

An image processing device includes a detector, a recognition unit, an acquisition, unit, and an output unit. The detector detects an image formed on a sheet, and a mark applied to the sheet. The recognition unit recognizes a mark position, which is a position where the mark is formed on the image. The acquisition unit acquires an additional image to be added and formed at the mark position. The output unit forms an output image using the image detected by the detector and the additional image acquired by the acquisition unit.

An image processing apparatus includes a processor, and memory storing computer readable instructions, when executed by the processor, causing the apparatus to function as a storage destination specifying unit configured analyze original image data generated by optically reading a document, the document including a body area having information written therein, and also including a storage destination specifying area representing information for specifying a storage destination to store target image data representing a target including the body area, so as to specify the storage destination to store the target image data, and a target image data providing unit configured to provide the target image data to the specified storage destination.

A printing system includes a portable terminal including a thermal head; and a host device configured to control label printing performed by the portable terminal. The host device includes a label generation module configured to generate the new label by adjusting, based on information relating to an object included in existing label data and a size of a new label, one or both of a position and a size of the object in the new label.

A printing apparatus connectable to an inspection apparatus in a communicable manner according to the present invention includes a reception unit configured to receive an inspection job including at least information indicating whether a correct answer image is to be registered, an analysis unit configured to analyze the received inspection job, and, a control unit configured to perform control so that the correct answer image is transmitted to the inspection apparatus in a case where the correct answer image is to be registered, and to perform control so that an instruction to select the correct answer image is transmitted to the inspection apparatus in a case where the correct answer image is not to be registered, as a result of the analysis.
