An information processing apparatus being communicable with a web server configured to provide a web page being capable of accepting instructions to control a printing apparatus, includes: a first obtaining unit configured to obtain a certificate of the web server; a verifying unit configured to verify the certificate; and a communicating unit configured to establish secure communication with the web server in a case where the verifying unit succeeds in verification and to establish unsecure communication with the web server in a case where the verifying unit fails in the verification.

An information processing device includes a processing part, a controlling part, and a providing part. The processing part executes a process. A system and method for generating customized user interface on a multifunction peripheral. The multifunction peripheral has an intelligent controller with a processor and memory, and a document processing engine with functional subsystems subject to software control by the intelligent controller. The intelligent controller functions as a webserver operating through a network interface. A variety of device control applications are stored with each applications configured to engage a corresponding subset of the functional subsystems. Image files generate an interface image corresponding to a device control application on a touchscreen multifunction peripheral interface. The webserver receives selection data corresponding to at least one selected device control application from an associated web client and outputs a web page displaying image files corresponding to each selected device control application image to the web client via the network interface generating a preview image of a customized user interface.

An image forming apparatus includes an operating mechanism, a storage device, and a control device. The operating mechanism executes a job. The control device functions as a controller. When accepting a request to prepare execution of the job, the controller allows the operating mechanism to prepare the execution of the job to thus generate data for output and allows the storage device to save the data for output. When accepting a request to execute the job, the controller allows the operating mechanism to execute the job based on the data for output.

A printing system 1 configured to perform various settings of a printer 5 via a web browser 3 wherein the printer 5 is configured for selection and setting a type and a size of the sheet 7 via the web browser 3 and an operation panel 9 of the printer 5 is configured to enable selection and setting, for among predetermined types, a type of the sheet 7 that was placed in the sheet placed section 11 of the printer 5. The operation panel 9 is provided so that a document icon 13, a photograph icon 15, and an envelope icon 17 can be visually recognized.

An information processing system includes an information processing apparatus that provides an electronic apparatus with a service by way of a web application. The system includes a memory and circuit. The memory is configured to store information relating to a setting item of the web application, and store a setting value to be set to the setting item. The circuitry is configured to generate a setting screen based on the information relating to the setting item and the setting value, and update the setting value stored in the memory based on an instruction for configuring settings relating to an operation screen of the web application that is displayed at the electronic apparatus, the instruction being accepted through the setting screen being displayed to the terminal apparatus.
