A communication system includes a first electronic apparatus settable with first setting information for a plurality of items and a second electronic apparatus settable with second setting information for the plurality of items, and communicably connected to the first electronic apparatus. The first electronic apparatus includes first circuitry to transmit, to the second electronic apparatus, the first setting information including determination information set for each of the plurality of items to determine whether the first setting information is synchronized with the second setting information. The second electronic apparatus includes second circuitry to receive the first setting information, determine whether the first setting information is synchronized with the second setting information for each of the plurality of items based on the determination information, and reflect a value set for one of the plurality of items of the first setting information on the second setting information according to a determination.

A group type setting unit sets the types of the groups classified by the hierarchy classifying unit to normal groups and delegating groups. A browsing managing unit, when the user logs in from the terminal, performs exclusive management that does not allow browsing of a group set as a delegating group by the group type setting unit, even by a user belonging to an upper group.

A system and method for customizing a multifunction peripheral user interface includes a multifunction peripheral with a document processing controller including a processor and memory. The memory stores identified electronic customization groups, each comprised of electronic files. The memory also stores device customization data sets, each data set corresponding to document processing in the multifunction peripheral. A print engine and a scan engine are operational by instructions issued from the controller. The processor generates indicia on a display identifying each of the customization groups and receives a user selection of one or more customization group. A customizations menu listing available customizations from the selections is displayed along with a document processing options menu including corresponding device customization data sets. Selectable user interface packages, where at least one of the interface packages includes a document processing options menu, are stored in the memory.

The memory further stores use screen information in association with application identification information. The circuitry: receives a first request including the application identification information from a device; transmits the use screen information and the application setting information to the device; receives a second request including the parameters, information on electronic data, and the flow identification information; acquires the flow information; and executes the programs in accordance with the execution order by using the parameters.
