A reading apparatus includes: a reading section that reads a side of a medium; a first medium transport path that includes a position facing the reading section; a second medium transport path coupled to a medium mounting section and coupled to the first medium transport path, the second medium transport path being inclined at a first angle with respect to the first medium transport path; and a third medium transport path coupled to the first medium transport path, the third medium transport path being inclined at a second angle, which is less than the first angle, with respect to the first medium transport path.

An image forming device includes a CPU. The CPU causes an image reader to collectively read a plurality of documents placed in each divided area of a document placement table and acquire individual images according to a user operation. Furthermore, the CPU generates, for each divided area, an image file that includes the image. In addition, if document reading is executed in a state where a document is placed in an inappropriate position, a notification screen for notifying the user that the document is not appropriately placed is displayed on a display before the image file data is generated.

An image forming apparatus includes: a transport device that transports a sheet placed on a sheet holding member; a detector that detects one type from among a first number of types as a type of the sheet transported by the transport device; a display that displays the type of the sheet placed on the sheet holding member; and an input device that accepts an instruction related to a display pattern of the type of the sheet, wherein the input device accepts an instruction to select the display pattern from a first display pattern in which the type of the sheet is selected from among the first number of types, and a second display pattern in which the type of the sheet is selected from a second number of types, and the display displays the type that is a result of the detection by the detector.

An image-forming apparatus includes an image-reading unit. The image-reading unit includes a first member and a second member. The image-reading unit includes an original-document-feeding apparatus that conveys an original document from an original-document-loading tray to a discharge tray via a read position. In the first member and the second member, a first conveyance passage along which the original document is conveyed to the read position and a second conveyance passage along which the original document is conveyed from the read position to the discharge tray are formed. The second member includes at least two conveyance rollers. Between the two conveyance rollers, there are opening edges for partly allowing access to the second conveyance passage. The second member includes a lid for covering an opening that is defined by the opening edges.

An image digitizing apparatus has an image digitizing sensor to read an image from media passing the image digitizing sensor, and a transport to move the media past the image digitizing sensor. The transport includes a first driven transport element, and a second driven transport element biased towards the first driven transport element.
