In a multi-purpose peripheral, a first cover pivotally disposed on a body has a lower surface and a platen portion opposite the lower surface; a second cover pivotally disposed on the body is separated from the first cover by a gap; a first scan assembly movably disposed in the body acquires an image of a first document covered, by the lower surface of the first cover, onto a transparent platen of the body; a transporting mechanism disposed in the body and the second cover transports a second document on the first cover; and a second scan assembly disposed in the second cover acquires an image of the second document transported by the transporting mechanism past the second scan assembly. Upper surfaces of the second cover and the first cover are disposed on the same horizontal surface.

An image digitizing apparatus has an image digitizing sensor to read an image from media passing the image digitizing sensor, and a transport to move the media past the image digitizing sensor. The transport includes a first driven transport element, and a second driven transport element biased towards the first driven transport element. The first driven transport element and the second driven transport element receive the media therebetween.

An image forming apparatus includes a function controller. The function controller performs control so as not to execute a conveyance function when function information, which indicates whether to restrict execution of a conveyance function for conveying a sheet for each conveyance source of the sheet or each conveyance destination of the sheet, indicates that the execution of the conveyance function is restricted. The function controller performs control to execute the conveyance function when the function information indicates that the execution of the conveyance function is not restricted.

A recording apparatus includes: a recording unit that performs recording on a medium; a medium discharging section that discharges the medium on which recording has been performed; a medium receiving section that receives the medium discharged by the medium discharging section; a face-down discharge path that guides, to the medium discharge section, the recorded medium with a recorded side thereof facing downward; a document movement path that is provided at an upper part of a housing constituting an outer casing of the recording apparatus and along which a document moves; and a reading unit provided in the document movement path to read the document. The medium receiving section also serves as a support tray that supports the document to be inserted into the document movement path or the document exiting from the document movement path.

A print management system includes an image forming apparatus and a control apparatus, and includes a detection unit, a display unit, and a setting unit. The detection unit detects paper information which is set with respect to a print job. The display unit displays the paper information detected by the detection unit on a display device. The setting unit controls processing for displaying a setting screen used to allocate the paper information displayed on the display device to a paper feed stage of the image forming apparatus on a screen of the display device.

In a scanner, a medium transport apparatus includes an apparatus main body including a medium transport path from a supply unit, which supplies a medium, to a discharge unit, which discharges the medium, a switcher that switches an attitude of the apparatus main body with respect to a mounting surface on which the apparatus main body is mounted, and a controller that, when the attitude of the apparatus main body with respect to the mounting surface is switched, performs control in accordance with the attitude after the switching.

A sheet feed device includes: a stacking tray on which sheets are stacked in such a manner as to be capable of being lifted and lowered; and a position restricting member configured to come into contact with a sheet end portion to restrict a position of the sheets. The position restricting member is provided to an opening/closing member capable of being opened and closed. When the opening/closing member is closed, the position restricting member restricts a position of the sheet end portion in an opening/closing direction of the opening/closing member.

An image forming apparatus comprises a tray, a conveyor, a detector and a movement mechanism. The tray accommodates at least one document. The conveyor conveys the document placed on the tray. The detector detects that the document is placed on the tray. The movement mechanism moves the tray from a first position to a second position closer to the conveyor than the first position based on the detection that the document is placed on the tray, and after moving the tray from the first position to the second position, moves the tray to the first position based on a setting of a mixed stacking mode in which mixing of the documents with different sizes on the tray is permitted.

An image forming apparatus includes a hardware processor. The hardware processor: receives page setting information in print data of a next page; stores the page setting information in a second memory at the time of receiving the print data of the next page from the external apparatus when a first memory has no area to store image information of the next page; and controls a conveyer to feed out the sheets from a paper feed tray specified by the page setting information to a conveyance path of the conveyer and to convey the sheets when the page setting information is in the second memory at the timing of feeding out the next sheet to the conveyance path of the conveyer regardless of whether the image information corresponding to the page setting information is in the first memory.
