The control unit causes the printing unit to stop the printing of the image on the printing medium, and causes the output unit to output alert information on discharge of the printing medium to the exit tray, if the number of printing media on the exit tray is equal to or greater than a predetermined first threshold value. The control unit causes the printing unit to stop the printing of the image on the printing medium, and causes the output unit to output the alert information, if the number of printing media on the exit tray is equal to or greater than a second threshold value which is smaller than the first threshold value, and if a predetermined printing stop condition is satisfied.

A post-processing apparatus is connected to an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a sheet. The post-processing apparatus includes a post-processor, a sensor, and a controller. The post-processor performs post-processing on the sheet. The sensor is provided in a space where the post-processor operates and provides an output based on a presence of a foreign substance in the space. The controller acquires a first output value from the sensor prior to the image forming apparatus forming the image on the sheet, acquires a second output value from the sensor after the image forming apparatus forms the image on the sheet and before the post-processor performs the post-processing on the sheet, and determines whether or not the foreign substance is present in the space based on the first output value and the second output value.

An image scanning apparatus includes an image sensor to scan a manuscript, a transfer apparatus to pick up the manuscript and move the manuscript to a manuscript transfer path, and a loading apparatus to load the manuscript scanned by the image sensor. The loading apparatus includes a discharge tray to hold a discharged manuscript and a guide member to have one end rotatably disposed on the manuscript above an upper part of the discharge tray at an angle formed relative to the discharge tray based on a type of the manuscript.

A document checking apparatus includes an image scanning device, a printing device, an output tray, and a controller. The image scanning device is configured to scan a document image sheet by sheet from a document including plural sheets. The output tray is as an output destination of both the document outputted from the image scanning device and a print sheet outputted from the printing device. The controller is configured to perform checking of the document image, and if an error is detected in the checking of the document image, control the printing device and thereby insert the print sheet as an interleaving sheet immediately before or immediately after a sheet where the error is detected.

An image reading device includes a reading part, a document pressing part, a capacitance sensor, a controller and an informing part. The capacitance sensor detects a capacitance varying in response to opening and closing of the document pressing part and presence or absence of the document on a document placement face. The controller determines that the document pressing part is disposed in the closing position and that the document is placed on the document placement face, based on a detection result of the capacitance sensor. The informing part informs a user of leaving the document on the document placement face behind in a case where the controller determines that the document placement part is disposed in the closing position and the document is placed on the document placement face after a predetermined time elapses from a completion of an image reading in the reading part.

A post-processing apparatus is connected to an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a sheet. The post-processing apparatus includes a post-processor, a sensor, and a controller. The post-processor performs post-processing on the sheet. The sensor is provided in a space where the post-processor operates and provides an output based on a presence of a foreign substance in the space. The controller acquires a first output value from the sensor prior to the image forming apparatus forming the image on the sheet, acquires a second output value from the sensor after the image forming apparatus forms the image on the sheet and before the post-processor performs the post-processing on the sheet, and determines whether or not the foreign substance is present in the space based on the first output value and the second output value.

An image reading device includes a reading part, a document pressing part, a capacitance sensor, a controller and an informing part. The capacitance sensor detects a capacitance varying in response to opening and closing of the document pressing part and presence or absence of the document on a document placement face. The controller determines that the document pressing part is disposed in the closing position and that the document is placed on the document placement face, based on a detection result of the capacitance sensor. The informing part informs a user of leaving the document on the document placement face behind in a case where the controller determines that the document placement part is disposed in the closing position and the document is placed on the document placement face after a predetermined time elapses from a completion of an image reading in the reading part.
