Feeding device and image forming apparatus
A feeding device includes: a feeder that feeds a first medium disposed on a top of plural media loaded; a detector that detects at least one of a curved state and an inclination of the first medium and following media including a second medium disposed immediately below the first medium; and a modifier that modifies a condition related to a feeding operation of the feeder based on the at least one of the curved state and the inclination detected by the detector.
CONVEYING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE CONVEYING DEVICE, POSITION DETECTING METHOD OF THE IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A conveying device includes a sensor to read a sheet to be conveyed, a first conveyor arranged on an upstream side from the sensor in a sheet conveying direction of the sheet, a second conveyor arranged on a downstream side from the sensor in the sheet conveying direction, and correcting circuitry to correct a distance of the sheet having an error detected when the sensor reads the sheet conveyed by the first conveyor and the second conveyor, to an actual distance. The correcting circuitry uses at least a first correction value correcting a distance read by the sensor when the first conveyor conveys the sheet and a second correction value correcting a distance read by the sensor when the second conveyor conveys the sheet.
Corrected stack height calculation in an output bin
According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory. The memory may have stored thereon machine readable instructions that when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to determine a job thickness of a print job including sheets, determine an average sheet thickness of the sheets, and determine an average print material coverage on the sheets. The instructions may also cause the processor to identify, based on the determined job thickness, the determined average sheet thickness, and the average print material coverage, a plurality of correction factors to be applied in a calculation of a corrected stack height of print jobs in an output bin and apply the identified plurality of correction factors to a measured stack height in the output bin to calculate the corrected stack height.
IMAGE READING DEVICE AND IMAGE READING METHOD
When a multi-feed of a document is detected, an image reading device acquires a document width from image data generated by a reading unit reading a leading end portion of the document. The document width is a length of the document in a width direction intersecting a transport direction. When, based on the document width, the size of the document corresponds to a specific size of a plastic card or an instant film, the image reading device does not execute error processing in response to an occurrence of the multi-feed, and when the size of the document does not correspond to the specific size, the image reading device executes the error processing.
Image scanning device and sheet feeding method applied therein
An image scanning device includes an upper shell, a feeding shaft pivotally connected to the upper shell, a feeding roller mounted around the feeding shaft, a sensing roller, a motor, a lower shell pivotally covered to the upper shell, a plurality of springs and a contact image sensor. The sensing roller is mounted around the feeding shaft. The motor is connected with the feeding shaft. The motor drives the feeding shaft to rotate in different speeds. The plurality of the springs are mounted to the lower shell. The contact image sensor is mounted to the plurality of the springs. A top surface of the contact image sensor is capable of abutting against lower portions of outer surfaces of the feeding roller and the sensing roller by virtue of the plurality of the springs elastically abutting against a bottom surface of the contact image sensor.
IMAGE READING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE
An image-reading device is provided with a first detection unit for detecting that the front side of a cover is within a first distance to ca copy holder, a second detection unit for detecting that an opening/closing support part is within a second distance to the copy holder, and a control unit. The contorl unit: acquires first detection information due to the first detection unit and second detection information due to the second detection unit, respectively; and identifies, on the basis of the first detection information and the second detection information, whether a copy set in place has a thickness equal to or greater than a fixed value.
Image scanning apparatus, and method and computer-readable medium therefor
An image scanning apparatus includes a controller configured to acquire image data by scanning a document and a particular range of a document pressing surface, detect black edge positions by detecting, from the image data, black pixels having gradation values less than a white gradation value, determine a sheet type of the document based on the gradation values of the black pixels, detect white edge positions by detecting, from the image data, white pixels having gradation values equal to or more than the white gradation value. The controller is further configured to, when the sheet type is a thin paper, detect, as the white pixels, pixels having gradation values equal to or more than a first threshold, and when the sheet type is a thick paper, detect, as the white pixels, pixels having gradation values equal to or more than a second threshold.
Document imaging system and method for imaging documents to convey documents without entraining documents
A system is provided for processing documents. In particular, the system incorporates a feeder for feeding documents to a device for further processing of the documents. For instance, the system finds particular application in the field of document imaging in which a variety of documents of varying sizes and orientation are to be fed to an imaging system, such as a document scanner. The system may provide a sorting station that receives documents from a workstation and sorts the documents to a plurality of sort locations. The system may export the image data for the documents to a fileserver so that a remote operator can provide instructions for the processing of the documents so that the documents can be subsequently processed according to the instructions provided by the operator.
IMAGE READING DEVICE AND IMAGE READING METHOD
An image reading device includes a con driven by a motor, determines whether or not a second document subsequent to a first document is placed in a placement unit after start of driving of the motor and after the first document reaches a reading end position where reading by a reading unit ends, and when the second document is present, stops driving of the motor if a stop instruction for sopping the document at a specific position is received, and continues driving of the motor if the stop instruction is not received, and when the second document is absent, stops driving of the motor after the first document is discharged to a downstream of the conveyance roller.
