To provide an image processing apparatus capable of correcting an orientation of a scanned image, even if the orientation of a document during scanning is incorrect. An image processing apparatus includes a document type determination unit configured to determine a document type of image data obtained by optical reading, a selection unit configured to select, based on a determination result from the document type determination unit, a determination algorithm to be applied, from a plurality of determination algorithms for determining an orientation of an image, and an orientation determination unit configured to determine an orientation of an image in the image data by using the determination algorithm selected by the selection unit.

An image sensor unit includes: a visible light cut filter that is arranged between a first light source and a first light guide and blocks light including visible light having wavelengths longer than those of ultraviolet light; a lens body that condenses light generated on a reading target by light radiated from the first light guide and light radiated from a second light guide; a line sensor that receives the light condensed by the lens body; and an ultraviolet light cut filter arranged between the lens body and the line sensor and blocks ultraviolet light.

An image forming apparatus that prints an adjustment pattern on a sheet includes a generator and an image former. The adjustment pattern is for correcting a color value obtained by reading a second patch region on the sheet with a second reader based on a color value obtained by reading a first patch region on the sheet with a first reader. The generator generates image data of the adjustment pattern, and the image former performs printing based on the image data. The adjustment pattern includes a first patch printed in the first patch region and a second patch printed in a region other than the first patch region in the second patch region. The second patch includes a common color patch in a same color as a color of the first patch, and a size of the first patch is larger than a size of the second patch.

An information processing apparatus includes an acquirer and an updater. The acquirer acquires a template document image obtained as a result of reading a template document. The updater updates, based on the template document image, processing procedure information indicating a procedure of processing including an extracting step and another step to processing procedure information indicating a procedure of processing including the extracting step and a step whose content is updated. The processing is processing to be executed based on a completed document image obtained as a result of reading a completed document generated by filling characters into the template document. The extracting step is a step of extracting a region including a character image from the completed document image.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit provided on a first conveyance path, a reading unit provided on a second conveyance path and configured to read image information from a sheet conveyed in the second conveyance path, the second conveyance path branching from the first conveyance path, the sheet being conveyed through the second conveyance path in a case of forming an image on a second surface of the sheet opposite to a first surface of the sheet on which an image has been formed by the image forming unit, an opposing member configured to oppose the reading unit with a space therebetween, and a conveyance roller configured to convey the sheet through the space between the reading unit and the opposing member and rotatably supported by the opposing member.

An image forming apparatus that prints an adjustment pattern on a sheet includes a generator and an image former. The generator generates image data of the adjustment pattern, and the image former performs printing based on the image data. The second patch includes a common color patch in a same color as a color of the first patch, and a size of the first patch is larger than a size of the second patch.

A conveyance path for a document (D) has a first conveyance path (R1) that turns back midway and a second conveyance path (R2) that extends rectilinearly. When the document (D) is of a particular type, if a setting to use the first conveyance path (R1) has been made, a control section (4) has a warning message (MS1) displayed.

An image reading apparatus includes a body support section, an apparatus body supported by the body support section, and a reading section configured to read a document. An image reading apparatus includes: a document size detector that detects either a length or a width of a fed document before reading, and associates the document with a standard size equal to or approximate thereto; an image reading device that reads a document and surroundings thereof at a reading position; a background color plate to be read as an image of the surroundings; a document area determiner that determines a document area; and a blank page determiner that determines a blank page determination area for determining whether a document is a blank page or not. When either of the detected length or width is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value, the blank page determiner determines the blank page determination area, based on the associated standard size, and otherwise determines the blank page determination area, based on the document area.
