Image forming apparatus and method of displaying setting of image forming apparatus
A display processor of a controller extracts data such as images and characters from display data stored in a storage based on setting information stored in the storage, and displays a document orientation instructing pane and a 90-degree rotation operation icon in a document image operating pane on a display device. The display processor also displays a print preview image based on the document image data. When a rotation operation is performed through the 90-degree rotation operation icon, the document image data is also subjected to the same rotation process.

An image reading apparatus includes an original tray, a conveyer, a reading unit, an acquisition unit, one or more processors, an acquisition unit, a setting unit, and a corrector. The acquisition unit is configured to acquire information relating to a length of the original to be read by the reading unit in a main scanning direction orthogonal to the conveying direction, and the setting unit is configured to set an ineffective region based on the information acquired by the acquisition unit, wherein the ineffective region is a region in the main scanning direction of the pixel data which is not to be used for determination of an inclination amount corresponding to an inclination angle, with respect to the main scanning direction, of a side at a leading edge of the original in the conveying direction.

An image processing apparatus includes: an image reading unit that reads an image of a document according to an instruction of an operator; an acquiring unit that acquires information on the operator performing document reading, or information on motions of the operator performed on the image processing apparatus in order to perform document reading; and a display that performs display for receiving an input for document reading, based on the line of sight, from the operator, when the information acquired by the acquiring unit satisfies a predetermined condition.
Reading apparatus
A reading apparatus, having a document placement plate, a reader, a driving device, a cover, and a controller, is provided. The cover includes an alignment part and a protrusive part. The protrusive part includes an uneven surface and first and second edges forming outer edges of the uneven surface extending in a main scanning direction and in a sub-scanning direction, respectively. The controller is configured control the driving device to move the reader in the sub-scanning direction and the reader while being moved to read the protrusive part, and detect the first edge and the second edge in image data of the protrusive part read by the reader based on an image of the uneven surface and determine a reading range for the reader in the document placement plate based on positions of the first edge and the second edge.

A data generation system includes circuitry configured to generate data of sub-images constructing an image. Each of the sub-images includes at least one of image elements of the image. The circuitry is configured to, when, in an attempt to add another one of the image elements adjacent to the at least one of the image elements in one of the sub-images, the other one of the image elements does not fit within the one of the sub-images, generate data of the one of the sub-images without the other one of the image elements.

An image forming apparatus extracts a pagination image from original document image data of each of a plurality of original documents, specifies a last-digit image corresponding to the ones place of a pagination, arrays a plurality of pagination images in a reading order of original documents beginning with an original document earliest read to form a matrix with n rows and ten columns, sets a row including ten different last-digit images as a reference row, sets a row after the reference row as a first check row, determines, in order from a first column, whether a pagination image of the first check row is a first subject pagination image differing in last-digit image from a pagination image in the identical column of the reference row, and, if determining that some pagination image or another is the first subject pagination image, determines that multi feed has occurred.
ADJUSTMENT IMAGE DATA FOR USE IN IMAGING OPERATION AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Adjustment image data is for use in adjusting imaging operation. The adjustment image data is stored in a storage of an image forming apparatus and read from the storage to form an image on a sheet of paper at the time of adjusting an imaging operation of the image forming apparatus. The adjustment image data includes a single identification mark located in the vicinity of a longitudinal center of the sheet of paper.
DOCUMENT CONVEYANCE APPARATUS
A document conveyance apparatus includes a first conveyance path, a first image reading part, a second conveyance path, a third conveyance path and a branch guide. The first conveyance path extends linearly. The first image reading part reads an image on one face of the document conveyed along the first conveyance path. The second conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at a branch point on a downstream side of the first reading part in a conveyance direction of the document and is formed to be curved. The third conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at the branch point and extends linearly in a same extending direction as an extending direction of the first conveyance path. The branch guide is provided at the branch point and guides the document to the second conveyance path or to the third conveyance path.
