An imaging apparatus including an imaging sensor, a memory, and a CPU. The CPU is operable as: (i) repeatedly acquiring an image by driving the imaging sensor at preset timing, (ii) acquiring an image by driving the imaging sensor by receiving an instruction at arbitrary timing, while maintaining acquisition processing by the (i), (iii) storing, in the memory, the image acquired by the (i) and the image acquired by the (ii), (iv) judging whether the arbitrary timing and the preset timing coincide with each other, and (v) when judged that the arbitrary timing and the preset timing coincide with each other as a result of a judgment of the (iv), controlling to store, in the memory, the image acquired by one of the (i) and the (ii), as the image acquired by the other of the (i) and the (ii), or controlling the imaging sensor.

SENSOR INTERRUPT HANDLING

Techniques are described for interrupt handling. A device can obtain, at a first context buffer associated with a first interrupt handler, first processing configuration data associated with a first sensor; obtain, at a second context buffer associated with a second interrupt handler, second processing configuration data associated with a second sensor; obtain, at the first interrupt handler, an error indication associated with the first sensor; perform, by the first interrupt handler, based on the error indication, an error handling operation (where the error handling operation comprises flushing the first context buffer and/or invalidating the first processing configuration data in the first context buffer); obtain, at the second interrupt handler, during a time window interval between obtaining the error indication and a completion time of the error handling operation, from the second sensor, an interrupt request (IRQ); and output, based on the IRQ, the second processing configuration data to a processor.

According to one aspect, there is provided an apparatus comprising at least one processing unit and at least one memory. The at least one memory stores program instructions that, when executed by the at least one processing unit, cause the apparatus to obtain a set of captured still images captured with a camera, detect at least one face in the captured still images, and cause display of the detected at least one face on a display providing a live viewfinder feed of a scene to be captured as an additional display element while providing the live viewfinder feed on the display.

In the present invention, when a user operation (shutter button depression) for instructing to start still image recording or a user operation (REC button depression) for instructing to start moving image recording is performed and detected at recording timing in interval shooting, a CPU records a still image or a moving image by an imaging section based on the user operation, without temporarily stopping the recording for the interval shooting. In addition, the CPU stores, in an external memory, a still image or a moving image recorded by the interval shooting and the still image or the moving image recorded by the detection of the user's instruction operation such that they can be managed to be usable as material for the interval shooting.

Photographing apparatus and method of controlling the same

A photographing device may reduce additional consumption of memory capacity and power and capture high resolution images. A method of controlling the photographing device includes storing first resolution input images acquired from live view images in a buffer; storing, according to an input of a time point, a second resolution input image acquired at the time point from the live view images in the buffer; and generating a result image based on the second resolution input image when the second resolution input image, which is stored within a threshold time from a photography command reception time point, is found in the buffer, and generating at least one of the stored first resolution image images as the result image when the second resolution input image, which is stored within the threshold time from the photography command reception time point, is not found in the buffer.

Frame manipulation to reduce rolling shutter artifacts

An image sensor of a camera system captures an image over an image capture interval of time, and waits a blanking interval of time before capturing an additional image. The captured image is provided to a frame controller, and is buffered until an image signal processor accesses the captured image. The image signal processor processes the accessed image over an image processing interval of time, producing a processed image. The image processing interval of time is selected to be greater than the image capture interval of time, but less than the sum of the image capture interval of time and the blanking interval of time. By reducing the image capture interval of time but maintaining an image processing interval of time, rolling shutter artifacts are beneficially reduced without increasing the processing resources or power required by the image signal processor to process the image.
