Imaging device which obtains still images from captured video
The imaging device includes: an optical system unit that controls optical information indicating an object image; an imaging unit that generates image data from the optical information input through the optical system unit; an image processor that performs a predetermined process to the image data generated by the imaging unit; and a controller that controls at least one of the optical system unit, the imaging unit, and the image processor based on a set value relating to video capturing so as to generate video data. The controller sets a set value relating to the video capturing in each of a first video mode and a second video mode (photo/video mode), and automatically sets the set value relating to the video capturing in the second video mode to a set value more suitable for recording a still image than in the first video mode.
Method for presentation of images
The invention concerns a method for displaying an image on a display of an electronic device, wherein the image is one selected image of a burst of images. The method comprises the steps of capturing a burst of images, comprising at least three images, defining a main image by selecting one image of the captured burst of images, defining the at least one images obtained before the selected main image as pre-images, displaying the defined pre-images and the selected main image in sequence on the display.
Imaging device, imaging system, communication device, imaging method, and computer readable recording medium for generating and transmitting superimposed image data
An imaging device includes an imaging unit configured to generate plural pieces of image data, a storing unit, a first communication control unit configured to sequentially transmit a newest one of the plural pieces of image data and identification information for identifying the newest one of the plural pieces of image data to plural communication devices and receive the identification information received by an operated communication device and elapsed time information from the operated communication device, and an image selection unit configured to select reproduction priority candidate image data, which is obtainable and reproducible by the operated communication device, from among the plural pieces of image data stored in the storing unit based on the elapsed time information and the identification information received.
METADATA-BASED PHOTO AND/OR VIDEO ANIMATION
Techniques are described herein that are capable of providing metadata-based photo and/or video animation. For instance, multiple images (e.g., still images) of a scene may be combined into an image sequence. An image may be selected from the multiple images to represent the scene. Such an image may be referred to as a primary image. Metadata may be associated with the primary image. The metadata may include a reference to the image sequence.

The present disclosure provides an image capture, curation, and editing system that includes a resource-efficient mobile image capture device that continuously captures images. The mobile image capture device is operable to input an image into at least one neural network and to receive at least one descriptor of the desirability of a scene depicted by the image as an output of the at least one neural network. The mobile image capture device is operable to determine, based at least in part on the at least one descriptor of the desirability of the scene of the image, whether to store a second copy of such image and/or one or more contemporaneously captured images in a non-volatile memory of the mobile image capture device or to discard a first copy of such image from a temporary image buffer without storing the second copy of such image in the non-volatile memory.
DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An information processing system that acquires a first captured image; acquires a plurality of second images; and generates display data including the first captured image and at least a subset of the plurality of second images based on an evaluation parameter corresponding to each of the plurality of second images.
Generation of a digest video
Embodiments include systems and methods for an electronic device including circuitry configured to acquire data of a first group of one or more images photographed by a first photographing method with corresponding first attribute information and first photographing time, and acquire data of a second group of one or more images photographed by a second photographing method with corresponding second attribute information and second photographing time; assign a priority to the first group and the second group based on the first photographing method and the second photographing method, respectively; and select one or more images from the first group and the second group based upon the assigned priorities, wherein a time to continuously display the selected one or more images occurs within a pre-determined time range for a set display mode.
IMAGING DEVICE, IMAGING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An imaging device includes the following. A temporary storage cyclically stores images for a predetermined duration or number imaged in succession. A record controller records temporarily stored images for a first duration or a first number of images before detection of the capturing instruction, and records images for a second duration or a second number of images after detection of the capturing instruction. A setter preliminarily determines a total duration of the first duration and the second duration or a total number of the first number and the second number and determines a ratio of the first duration to the second duration or a ratio of the first number to the second number in response to one type of operation of an operational input unit, while retaining the preliminarily determined total duration or the preliminarily determined total number.
Selection of a preferred image from multiple captured images
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for selection of a preferred image from multiple captured images. An image corresponding to a photograph time t=0 may be retrieved from a circular buffer and stored as a preferred image. Alternative images captures before and after the t=0 image may be retrieves and stored in an alternative image location. The t=0 image and preferred images may be presented to a user in a user interface. The user may select a preferred image for the photograph from among the t=0 image and the alternative images.
Identifying dominant and non-dominant images in a burst mode capture
For cameras that capture several images in a burst mode, some embodiments of the invention provide a method that presents one or more of the captured images differently than the remaining captured images. The method identifies at least one captured image as dominant image and at least another captured image as a non-dominant image. The method then displays each dominant image different from each non-dominant image in a concurrent presentation of the images captured during the burst mode. The dominant images may appear larger than non-dominant images, and/or appear with a marking that indicates that the images are dominant.
