Cloning system and method for multifunction peripherals

A system and method for multifunction peripheral cloning includes a device controller with a processor and associated memory and a network interface. Device configuration data is stored on the device for configuring device components such as a scan engine and a print engine. A controller processor of a multifunction peripheral designated as a leader device generates a master clone file from a copy of its device configuration data and communicates it to at least one networked multifunction peripheral via the network interface via a push to targeted devices or responsive to a request for a copy of the master clone file from follower devices.

A server apparatus includes an acquiring unit, a reporting unit, a script acquiring unit, and a requesting unit. When a user issues a request for executing information processing to an information processing apparatus, the acquiring unit acquires unique information for uniquely identifying an information storage medium corresponding to the user through a network. The unique information is read from the information storage medium by a reading device. The reporting unit refers to a storage unit that stores therein pieces of unique information and applications relating to information processing in an associated manner with each other, to detect an application associated with the acquired unique information, and reports the acquired unique information to the detected application. The script acquiring unit acquires, from the application, a script generated by the application based on the unique information. The requesting unit transmits a request for executing the acquired script to the information processing apparatus.

An information processing system includes one or more image capturing devices and circuitry. The one or more image capturing devices capture a first slip and a second slip to generate one or more images. The first slip has a first image code corresponding to a first type of identification information thereon, and the second slip has a second image code corresponding to a second type of identification information thereon. The circuitry is to manage a position of the first slip based on the first image code recognized from the one or more images, manage a position of the second slip based on the second image code recognized from the one or more images, and display the position of the second slip in response to an operation performed by a user.

An image processing apparatus of the present invention displays a transmission setting screen for a user to set a transmission destination of image data, and when a transmission instruction is received from a user, transmits the image data to a destination set via the transmission setting screen. Meanwhile, if destination information is received from an external apparatus, a screen displayed on a display unit is changed to a transmission setting screen, and a destination designated by the received the destination information is set as a transmission destination of the image data.

Terminal device

A terminal device performs operations includes: a file information receiving process to receive M pieces of file information for identifying M image files from a printer storing M image files; a specific signal receiving process to receive a specific signal from the printer; a determination process to determine whether an inter-device distance is equal to or less than a predetermined distance by using a received radio field intensity of the specific signal; a selection process to select N pieces of file information, which is a part of the M pieces of file information when it is determined in the determination process that the inter-device distance is equal to or less than the predetermined distance; and a print instruction transmission process to not transmit the print instruction to the printer when it is determined that the inter-device distance is not equal to or less than the predetermined distance.

STORING METADATA RELATED TO CAPTURED IMAGES

The present disclosure relates to user-selected metadata related to images captured by a camera of a client device. User-selected metadata may include contextual information and/or information provided by a user when the images are captured. In various implementations, a free form input may be received at a first client device of one or more client devices operated by a user. A task request may be recognized from the free form input, and it may be determined that the task request includes a request to store metadata related to one or more images captured by a camera of the first client device. The metadata may be selected based on content of the task request. The metadata may then be stored, e.g., in association with one or more images captured by the camera, in computer-readable media. The computer-readable media may be searchable by the metadata.

Image processing apparatus and image processing system capable of generating scan data and metadata

An image processing apparatus includes: a scanner, memory storing instructions; and a controller, when executing the instructions, causing the image processing apparatus to execute: a first reception processing of receiving instruction data, a first determination processing of determining whether the instruction data is screen instruction data or action instruction data. If the instruction data is the screen instruction data, the image processing apparatus executes: a display processing of displaying a setting screen, an acceptance processing of accepting a user operation designating the parameter; a first storage processing of storing the parameter designated by the acceptance processing. If the instruction data is the action instruction data, the image processing apparatus executes: a scan instruction processing of causing the scanner to execute the scanning action; a generation processing of generating the metadata, with using the parameter stored in the memory, and a second transmission processing.
