The confirmation unit is configured to confirm that a predetermined element image is included at a predetermined position in each of a plurality of pages of read images. The recognition unit recognizes characters displayed in a recognition region determined relative to a region where the element image is formed. The generation unit is configured to generate a data file as a single file based on a recognition result of a page by the recognition unit, the page having a predetermined relationship with a page of the read image that is confirmed to include the element image by the confirmation unit.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, an operation section, storage, and a controller. The image forming section forms a document image on a recording medium. The operation section includes a touch panel. The storage stores image data therein. The controller: converts document image data to two-dimensional barcode image data; randomly determines a position and an orientation of a two-dimensional barcode image to be located in a document image; stores to the storage the two-dimensional barcode image data together with information on the position and the orientation that are determined by the controller; and causes, only when a correct answer about the information on the position and the orientation is received from a user through the touch panel, preview display of the document image through converting the two-dimensional barcode image data back to the document image data.

The invention comprises a printing method, comprising the steps of: marking a markable surface with a graphical code; loading into a plotter system the markable surface; receiving a print job related to the graphical code; and plotting the set of vectors on the markable surface, such as by identifying a particular media type of the markable surface with the graphical code, receiving into the plotter system a print job, the print job comprising: (1) the set of vectors; and (2) a printable media requirement; scanning, with the plotter system, the printable media code; and confirming the printable media requirement matches the particular media type.

The detector detects whether or not specific image information is included in the image data. The output controller allows an output of the image data when the image data does not include the specific image information., and disallows the output of the image data when the image data includes the specific image information. The eraser erases the image data from the storage when the specific image information is included in the image data.

A computerized method for authenticating documents having VIZ sections, the method comprising capturing an image of a document to be authenticated from a scanner and enhancing the captured image, and using a processor for identifying and cropping a VIZ section in the image.

According to aspects illustrated herein, methods and systems for retaining duplex scanning information in a scanned output file, is disclosed. The method includes receiving a document for scanning, having multiple pages, wherein each page has a first side such as a front side and a second side such as a back side. Then, a check for selection of a duplex scanning feature by a user, is performed. Upon scanning, an image data representing an image of the document is generated. The image data and the duplex scanning feature selected by the user is processed to generate a scanned output file. The duplex scanning information is generated, while generating the scanned output file. The duplex scanning information is retained in the scanned output file, for later retrieval and use. The duplex scanning information helps identify the first side and the second side in the scanned output file.

An information processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires a processed image obtained through image processing, and a generation unit that generates a synthesis image obtained by synthesizing an evidence image, which is an image becoming an evidence of the image processing and including at least information on a fee required for the image processing, with a reduction image obtained by reducing the processed image.
