FUNCTION EXTENSION APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, AND CONTROL METHOD FOR FUNCTION EXTENSION APPARATUS
A function extension server receives first scan data including a pattern image obtained by encoding additional information, and destination information indicating a destination of the first scan data, decodes the pattern image to acquire the additional information, and transmits the first scan data and the additional information to the destination indicated by the destination information.
Generating image data representative of industrial automation system configurations
A method, performed by at least one processor, comprising generating a first set of images representative of configuration data associated with an industrial automation system. An electronic display may display at least one image of the first set of images. The processor may detect a change in the configuration data and retrieve updated configuration data from the industrial automation system. The processor may encode the updated configuration data into a second set of images and display at least one additional image of the second set of images on the electronic display.
Apparatus for Detecting a Transient Thermal Gradient in a Substrate
An apparatus detects a transient thermal gradient in a substrate. The apparatus is comprised of an electromagnetic radiation source configured to emit source electromagnetic radiation; a fast shutter configured to block the source electromagnetic radiation when closed, and open in response to a command to pulse the source electromagnetic radiation; a substrate support that supports a substrate disposed to emit a pulsed radiation from a back side of the substrate when the source electromagnetic radiation is pulsed through the substrate; and a detector configured to face the back side of the substrate. The detector is used to detect a transient thermal gradient in the pulsed radiation.
Reducing nonvisual noise byte codes in machine readable format documents
A method may include obtaining a first byte stream from first document code and a second byte stream from second document code. The first document code has a document type and the second document code has the document type. The method may further include identifying, in the first byte stream, nonvisual noise corresponding to a custom byte code defined in a custom character encoding set. The nonvisual noise is invisible when rendering the first document code. The method may further include replacing, in the first byte stream, the custom byte code with at least one standard byte code defined in a standard character encoding set to obtain modified document code. The second document code uses the standard character encoding set. The method may further include comparing the modified document code with the second document code by comparing the first byte stream with the second byte stream.
Systems and methods for verifying the authenticity of documents
A system and method for ensuring the authenticity of imaged documents by embedding data into the images of such documents. The embedded data can then be extracted and decoded, and used to determine whether a particular document may be fraudulent. The documents may be checks, money orders, contracts, invoices, titles or other legal documents that may need to have their authenticity confirmed to prevent, for example, forged or otherwise false documents from being accepted as genuine.
Methods and systems for protecting scanned documents
The disclosure discloses methods and systems for securing documents submitted for scanning at a device such as a multi-function device. The method includes scanning a document received from a user. A user interface is provided to the user to define a document type and to further define an access level for accessing the scanned document. Then, scanned data is generated. The scanned data is encoded based on a unique identity of the device and based on the access level such that the scanned data is accessible by the user and/or by one or more other users according to the defined access level. Finally, the scanned document is generated. Later when the scanned document is accessed by any user, details of the user accessing the scanned document is matched with details added in the encoded scanned data. Based on matching, the user is allowed to access the scanned document.
Printing management
Certain examples relate to a method of printing management. An image is received for printing and printing parameters to print the image are determined. The image is printed onto a substrate using the printing parameters, and the image is printed with an embedded code corresponding to the printing parameters. The printing parameters are associated with the embedded code such that the printing parameters are retrievable from the embedded code.
Scannable thumbnails for association with data objects
Scannable thumbnails for identifying data objects stored on a database. A method includes identifying a data collection comprising one or more data objects stored on a database and receiving a thumbnail selection to represent the data collection, wherein the thumbnail selection comprises one or more of an image from the data collection, a graphic, or text. The method includes generating a scannable code associated with the data collection merging the scannable code with the thumbnail selection to generate a scannable thumbnail.
TONER AND IMAGE READING METHOD
Toner comprising toner particles, wherein the toner contains gold nanorods, and wherein in a case where an aspect ratio distribution of the gold nanorods contained in the toner is measured, an average value μ in the aspect ratio distribution is in a range of 6.0 to 13.0 and a standard deviation σ in the aspect ratio distribution is in a range of 0.5 to 4.5.
Method for generating variable guilloche patterns, implementing device and identification document comprising such patterns
Generation of one dimensional guilloche patterns able to be affixed on a document, each guilloche pattern being able to encode variable alphanumeric data providing a different appearance to each guilloche pattern, by formatting alphanumeric data to be encoded in the form of a predefined number of data blocks with a predefined size, generating a carrier function having a plurality of parameters, the formatted data blocks forming at least one of the parameters, and modulating the carrier function by the formatted data blocks so as to encode the alphanumeric data graphically, each data block defining a guilloche pattern, the number of data blocks defining the number of guilloche patterns, the carrier function associated with a formatted data block is modulated locally, each datum of the block being encoded locally in the guilloche pattern, by interpolation of a predefined point associated with the carrier function.
