Image processing apparatus comprising image reader for reading document according to scan setup data, image processing program storing medium, and image processing system
In an image processing system, when a user logs in to an image processing apparatus to use a scanning service, the image processing apparatus transmits login information to a relay server, and the relay server transmits scan setup data and destination address data to the image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus prescans a document to identify a document format, and automatically sets scan setup data (properties), based on the identified format and according to the sent scan setup data, so as to execute scanning.
High-Definition Facsimile Routing
A high-definition (HD) fax system routes outbound fax job requests including a high-resolution component to appropriate destinations, including among HD-enabled receiving devices and conventional fax devices. If it is determined that a fax destination is not HD-enabled, such as a conventional fax device, the high-resolution component of the outbound fax job request may be rendered as a low-resolution fax. The low resolution fax may be transmitted via a public switched telephone network (PSTN). On the other hand, if it is determined that a fax destination is HD-enabled, a determination may be made whether the HD-enabled fax destination is color enabled, and the high-resolution component may be rendered as either a high-resolution monochrome fax or a high-resolution color fax.
Secure and disruption-tolerant communications for unmanned underwater vehicles
An underwater communications system includes a network communication interface, one or more computer processors, and a memory containing computer program code that, when executed by operation of the one or more computer processors, performs an operation. The operation includes storing a plurality of data packets to be transmitted to a destination device, determining that data communications over the network communication interface have become available for a first network node, and determining that the first network node has a valid security credential that has not been revoked by an access granting authority. Additionally, the operation includes, upon determining that the first network node has the valid security credential, transmitting the stored plurality of data packets over the network communication interface to the first network node. The first network node is configured to employ store-carry-and-forward data messaging techniques to transmit the plurality of data packets towards the destination device.
System and method for sending, delivery and receiving of faxes using a remotely deployed fax service or system
Embodiments of systems and methods for the sending, delivery and receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at a user's site, and a faxing system that may be deployed remotely from the user's site. The fax connector can be accessed at the user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at the user's site communicates with the remotely deployed faxing system to send, receive, obtain status on, or perform other functions associated with, faxing.
Device management system, device management method, and recording medium
A device management system and a device management method are provided, each of which: receives status information indicating a status of a relay device from the relay device, the relay device being connected with one or more devices in a local network via a firewall; based on a determination that the received status information satisfies a predetermined condition, obtains instruction information associated with the predetermined condition, the instruction information indicating a predetermined process to be executed by the relay device; and transmits the obtained instruction information to the relay device to cause the relay device to execute the predetermined process.
INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM
An information processing system includes an adding unit that in a case where first data acquired in a state without individual authentication is stored in a storage area associated with a specific individual, adds information for specifying an individual to the first data to obtain second data; and a transmission unit that transmits the first data to a specific destination requiring individual authentication, using authentication information associated with the information for specifying an individual, which is acquired in advance from the specific destination.
Mediation server
A mediation server may receive image data from a scanner via a network, the image data being generated by the scanner scanning each of M pieces of manuscripts sequentially, analyze the image data so as to specify separation image data which is a part of the image data, the separation image data representing a predetermined separation manuscript, and send first target data to a first destination and second target data to a second destination via the network, the first target data being obtained by using first partial image data representing at least one piece of manuscript among one or more pieces of manuscripts to be scanned after the separation manuscript, the second target data being obtained by using second partial image data representing at least one piece of manuscript among one or more pieces of manuscripts to be scanned before the separation manuscript.
Remote communication control system that improves security of remote session between image forming apparatus and connection terminal, session relay system, and recording medium
A remote communication control system includes a session relay system that associates a connection established with an image forming apparatus with a connection established with an electronic device located outside a network to which the image forming apparatus belongs, so as to relay a session between the image forming apparatus and the electronic device. When an application is unusable via the session, the session relay system does not relay the session based on a control policy and identification information of the application as a target for the session. The control policy indicates whether which application of the image forming apparatus is usable via the session.
Processing a fax transmission using a mobile device
Methods and apparatus are described for receiving a fax transmission at a mobile phone. In one embodiment, the mobile phone receives an incoming call and answers the incoming call, upon receiving a command from a user of the mobile phone to answer the incoming call. A program on the mobile phone then detects that the incoming call is a fax transmission, and then places an outgoing call to a fax server. The program on the mobile phone then conferences the incoming call with the outgoing call to the fax server, such that the fax server receives the fax transmission. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
