The image communication apparatus divides image data of the read original at each set of the received number of pages, and creates a file including the image data for each division of the divided image data.

An image processing apparatus includes a size acquisition unit and a decision unit. The size acquisition unit acquires first size information indicating a first sheet size of a first sheet surface read by an image reading unit. The decision unit decides second image information indicating a second image size of a second image to be stored of a second sheet surface different from the first sheet surface based on first image information indicating a first image size of a first image to be stored based on the first size information.

An information processing apparatus obtains scan images produced by collectively scanning a plurality of documents each of which includes one or more pages, divides the obtained scan images into divided scan images corresponding to the respective plurality of documents, converts the divided scan images into files in a predetermined format and thereby generates a plurality of files, and associates an identifier shared by the plurality of files with information identifying each of the plurality of the file.

One or more image processing apparatuses, image processing systems, control methods and storage mediums for use with same are provided herein. At least one embodiment of an image processing apparatus includes: a scanning unit that scans multiple original documents placed on a platen glass and generates image data; an acquisition unit that acquires pieces of image data of the respective original documents from the image data generated by the scanning unit; a decision unit that decides on a page order based on pieces of geometric information of the pieces of image data acquired by the acquisition unit; and a file creation unit that converts the pieces of image data of the respective original documents into one file in the page order decided by the decision unit and stores the one file.

A scanning system includes: a document reading unit configured to read a document and generate image data read from the document; a prompting unit configured to prompt a notification unit to add, after the document reading unit reads a preceding document, a subsequent document subsequent to the preceding document; and an output unit configured to, after the document reading unit reads the subsequent document according to the addition, separate and output preceding image data read from the preceding document and subsequent image data read from the subsequent document.

An information processing apparatus includes circuitry to receive, from a reading unit that reads a document having multiple pages, multiple page data individually corresponding to the multiple pages of the document; and transmit, to an external storage, the multiple page data to be stored in the external storage. The circuitry starts the transmitting, to an external storage, the multiple page data to be stored in the external storage before reading all pages of the document completes. The circuitry receives an edit instruction for editing page data transmitted to the external storage among the multiple page data; and transmits, to the external storage, edit data for reflecting the edit instruction in a content to be displayed based on the multiple page data read from the external storage, so as to cause the external storage to execute processing corresponding to the edit instruction for editing the page data having been transmitted.

An image forming apparatus includes a reception unit configured to receive image data obtained by reading the document by a first reading unit or a second reading unit, a storage unit configured to store the image data received by the reception unit, a determination unit configured to, while the reception unit is receiving the image data of the document obtained by the first reading unit, determine whether the second side is a blank page from the image data of the document read by the second reading unit, and a control unit configured to, in a case where the determination unit determines that the second side is a blank page, control the reception unit not to reserve a storage area for storing the image data of the document read by the second reading unit in the storage unit.

In accordance with an embodiment, an image processing apparatus comprises a scanner, an image data memory, a feature information acquisition section, an arrangement order determination section and an arrangement order change section. The scanner reads a plurality of sheets. The image data memory stores image data of each sheet read by the scanner. The feature information acquisition section acquires feature information indicating a feature of each of the sheets on the basis of the image data. The arrangement order determination section determines an arrangement order of the sheets on the basis of the feature information and order information indicating an arrangement of the sheets. The arrangement order change section rearranges the image data stored in the image data memory on the basis of the arrangement order determined by the arrangement order determination section.
