System and method for requesting a status report after receiving an error alert
A method of generating a status report from an image forming device comprises: recording an error notification in real time from the image forming device; analyzing the error notification received, wherein analyzing the error notification comprises: detecting a sequential pattern in the recorded error notification; and analyzing the sequential pattern detected; sending a request to the image forming device for a first status report if the sequential pattern detected in the error notification matches one of pre-stored sequential patterns corresponding to an error for which the first status report is requested; receiving the first status report using bidirectional communication protocols; analyzing data in the first status report; diagnosing the image forming device based on the data analyzed; and generating an action request.

SYSTEM FOR DISTRIBUTING IMAGE SCANNING TASKS TO NETWORKED DEVICES
A scan task system includes a plurality of imaging devices, including MFDs, dedicated scanners, or mobile phones with scanning or camera functions. The system notifies a user or a number of users when a particular document needs to be scanned and transmitted to a specific destination. A scan task is sent to available imaging devices, and will appear when the user logs in at any imaging device on the network. When a user executes the scan task at any one of the imaging devices, the scan task is removed from all devices. The scan task can be pre-programmed to appropriately file or send a scanned document when the scan is executed.
Proactive creation of personalized products
A method for proactively creating an image product includes capturing an image of an object in a first environment by a device, storing a library of personalized products each characterized by a product type, automatically recognizing the object in the image as having a product type associated with the library of personalized products, automatically creating a design for the personalized product of the product type using personalized content, automatically displaying the design of the personalized product of the product type incorporating the selected photo in the first environment on the device, and manufacturing a physical product based on the design of the personalized product.
NETWORK PRINTER DETECTION AND AUTHENTICATION FOR MANAGED DEVICE DEPLOYMENT
Disclosed are various examples for network printer detection and authentication for managed device deployment. In one example, a computing environment can access a listing of network printers received from a printer discovery service executed in an enterprise device in an intranet behind a firewall. A user group associated with a client device enrolled with a management service can be identified as well as at least one of the network printers assigned to the user group. The client device can be remotely configured to access the at least one of the network printers assigned to the user group.
NETWORK PRINTER DETECTION AND AUTHENTICATION FOR MANAGED DEVICE DEPLOYMENT
Disclosed are various examples for network printer detection and authentication for managed device deployment. In one example, a computing environment can receive an identifier from a client device over a network, where the client device detects the identifier based on a wireless transmission performed by a transmitter in association with a print operation assigned to a network printer. The computing environment can determine whether an authentication is required at the network printer in association with the print operation and cause an agent application executable on the client device to obtain authentication data. An authentication can be performed based on the authentication data received from the client device and, in response to a successful authentication, causes the print operation to be performed by the network printer.
INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, METHOD IN INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An object is to make it possible to add a vendor-unique command at the time at which addition of a vendor-unique command becomes necessary later even in the case where the device side does not have a dedicate pin for updating in communication control based on a SATA standard. An information processing system that performs data communication between a host and a device in conformity with the SATA standard, and the host transmits a setup command to which information on an undefined command is written to the device, and the device: has a command table for commands in conformity with the SATA standard, in which a command code to identify each command and information on a transfer protocol of each command are described; and makes the undefined command available between the host and the device by writing information on the undefined command to the command table in accordance with the received setup command.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTING A BANNER PAGE HAVING INDENTIFING INDICIA
A printing system generating a personalized banner page has a client device that transmits print data. An image forming device receives the print data transmitted by the client device. A banner creation module is in communication with the client device and the image forming device. The banner creation module transmits a user selected personalized indicia to be inserted on a banner page to be printed with the print data to identify the user.
Job processing system, job processing apparatus, and program
A job processing system includes: a job processing apparatus configured to execute an input job; and a plurality of terminals configured to receive an operation to set a job to be input to the job processing apparatus including: a processor configured to have a function of acquiring setting information indicating setting contents of a job for which a terminal has received a setting operation from a user by a first method and a second method; and a saving unit configured to save job setting information, the processor being configured to determine whether a first job setting operation is to be taken over by another terminal, and combine first job setting information with setting information about a job corresponding to a job setting operation received from a user by another terminal, and the job processing apparatus accepting an input of the first job.
SYSTEM AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A system includes at least one controlled device that is controlled based on control information output from an external device, and an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording material and communicate with the external device and the controlled device, wherein the image forming apparatus includes a transceiver that receives the control information from the external device and transmits the control information to the controlled device, and a transmission controller that stops the transmission of the control information by the transceiver or changes contents of the control information to be transmitted by the transceiver.
