Provided is an image forming system capable of dead/alive monitoring without adding a special apparatus.

An information-transmitting unit of an image forming apparatus transmits management information. A management-information-acquiring unit of a front-end server acquires the management information from the image forming apparatus. An analyzing unit of a back-end server analyzes the management information acquired by the management-information-acquiring unit. An interval-instructing unit of the front-end server, at specified time intervals accumulates instructions for the analyzing unit. The dead/alive-monitoring unit counts the number of messages not acquired by the analyzing unit, and when the number of messages is equal to or greater than a specified threshold value, determines the analyzing unit is not operating.

An information processing apparatus includes specifying unit and a display. The specifying unit specifies whether or not a failure occurring in the information processing apparatus can be suppressed, based on predetermined information. The display that displays information for enabling suppression of the failure in a case where it is determined by the specifying unit that the failure can be suppressed.

A control method for an information processing apparatus that performs wireless communication with a communication apparatus includes receiving, via a communication in a state in which pairing between the communication apparatus and the information processing apparatus is complete, predetermined information transmitted from the communication apparatus in a case where the communication apparatus is in a predetermined error state, and causes a display unit to display a screen for eliminating an error occurring in the communication apparatus, wherein, in a case where the pairing is complete, a screen including first information for eliminating the predetermined error state is displayed based on the received predetermined information, and, in a case where the pairing is not complete, a screen including second information different from the first information is displayed.

An apparatus includes circuitry configured to monitor a status of the apparatus to generate time-series status information indicating the statuses of the apparatus in chronological order, at every regular reporting time, acquire first status information indicating the status of the apparatus at the regular reporting time, and report the first status information to an information processing apparatus via a network, and after regular reporting of the first status information, acquire second status information that has not been reported to the information processing apparatus, from among the time-series status information being generated, and report the second status information to the information processing apparatus.
