An image processing apparatus includes: an authentication information requesting portion that transmits one or more requests for authentication information to a portable terminal apparatus upon receipt of a connection request therefrom, the connection request not requiring user identification; a first authentication portion that performs first authentication not requiring user identification by comparing authentication information to first reference data, the authentication information being received in return for the request; a second authentication portion that performs second authentication by comparing the authentication information to second reference data for user identification; and a processor that takes one piece of authentication information or any one of multiple pieces of authentication information received in return for the one or more requests, according to a predetermined rule, and that makes the second authentication portion perform the second authentication using the one piece of authentication information or the any one of the multiple pieces of authentication information.

A print apparatus comprises: a holding unit that holds destination information of a print server trusted as a request destination; a determination unit that determines, when a print request is received, whether destination information of a print server designated by the print request matches the held destination information; an access unit that requests access to the print server indicated by the held destination information if the determination unit determines that there is no match for the destination information; and an update unit that updates the held destination information to the destination information of the print server designated by the received print request if, as a response to the request, a destination that is the same as in the destination information of the print server designated by the received print request is received as a redirect destination.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided. Some embodiments include receiving, at a computing system from an image processing device, a request to access a resource. The computing system obtains information that identifies a component installed on the image processing device as a replacement component. The computing system obtains information indicating a count value of a counter associated with the component. The computing system determines whether the counter has been reset based on the information indicating the count value of the counter. In response to determining that the counter has not been reset, the computing system sends, to the image processing device, the resource including information for presentation as an interface element in a graphical user interface on a display of the image processing device, the interface element enabling a user to reset the counter by selecting the interface element.

The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus by which image data can be downloaded simply. A video camera 11 receives thumbnail images corresponding to one or more images included in an album from a video camera image station 41 and displays the thumbnail images on an LCD unit. If one or more images to be downloaded are selected, then the video camera 11 acquires image information of the selected image or images from a video camera image station 41, analyzes the image information and discriminates it one by one image whether or not the selected image data are downloadable. Every time one image is discriminated to be downloadable, the video camera 11 accesses a corresponding URL designated for each image, downloads the image from the URL and records the image onto a recording medium. The video camera 11 successively downloads the selected images in this manner.

An information processing apparatus stores output data in a storage unit, in an output system in which an output device acquires and outputs the output data stored in the storage unit. The information processing apparatus includes a determining unit configured to determine whether a substitute output function should be valid for the output data, based on information read from the output data, by using a substitute output setting including the information that can be read from the output data for which the substitute output function should be valid; and a specifying unit configured to specify a substitute output person, based on information read from the output data, and reflect information of the specified person in output-data-related-information relating to the output data that is stored together with the output data in the storage unit, when it is determined that the substitute output function should be valid for the output data.

An image processing system includes: an application server located in the Internet; an image processing apparatus located in a local network connected to the Internet via a firewall; a relay server configured to relay communication between the image processing apparatus and the application server, the relay server being located in the local network; and a connection mediation server configured to transmit, to the relay server, a request for a connection to the application server, the connection mediation server being located in the Internet, wherein the connection mediation server includes a connection request transmitting unit so as to have communication established between the image processing apparatus and the application server, the relay server includes: a communication establishing unit; a job transferring unit; a job identifying unit; and a communication terminating unit, and after the communication terminating unit terminates the communication, the communication establishing unit reestablishes the communication.

A method and system are provided for forwarding telephone calls, facsimile transmissions and electronic messages to a single forwarding telephone number. The telephone calls, fax transmissions and electronic messages are first forwarded to a central forwarding repository by the forwarding party where the fax transmissions, and messages are converted to audio formats. Forwarded telephone calls and audio formatted versions of the fax transmissions and electronic messages are then forwarded directly to a designated forwarding number. If the forwarding party answers at the forwarding number, she will receive forwarded calls, and the audio formatted versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages will be played to her over her telephone. If the forwarding party does not answer the forwarded call, she subsequently may retrieve saved telephone calls, saved telephone messages and saved audio versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages from the central forwarding repository.

An image forming apparatus includes: a first communication unit configured to perform communication by a short-distance wireless method; a second communication unit having a broader communication range than the first communication unit; a storage unit configured to store data to which an access right of a first user is set; a connection information providing unit configured to, when a data providing command for providing the data from a first terminal device of the first user to another user is received, and an access request to the data is received from a second terminal device of a second user, transmit connection information for accessing the data to the second terminal device; and a data providing unit configured to transmit the data to the second terminal device by the second communication unit, when a transmission request of the data is received from the second terminal device based on the connection information.

A communication apparatus performs wireless communication with an external apparatus compliant with an IEEE 802.11be standard. The communication apparatus establishes a link between the external apparatus and the communication apparatus by a communication function compliant with the IEEE 802.11be standard, and executes, based on a job that the communication apparatus is holding, predetermined processing for controlling whether to execute a first communication using a first plural number of links between the external apparatus and the communication apparatus, or to execute a second communication using a second plural number of links smaller than the first plural number between the external apparatus and the communication apparatus.
