Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a communication apparatus capable of preventing a decrease in the speed of communication with an external device due to execution of a handover when the communication apparatus is connected to the external device, and also directed to a control method and a recording medium. A communication apparatus provides, by using a first communication portion that uses a first communication method, communication information for performing communication based on a second communication method to an external device, and causes a second communication portion that uses the second communication method to connect with the external device using the second communication method, and performs control in such a manner that, in a case where the second communication portion connects with the external device, the first communication portion is used to provide communication information to no other external devices.

When an image forming apparatus satisfies a condition to shift it to a power saving state, if a specific function that needs to respond to an inquiry from an external apparatus within a predetermined time is set, a power control unit shifts the image forming apparatus to a first power saving state in which power is supplied to a control unit configured to respond to the inquiry, and if the specific function is not set, shifts the image forming apparatus to a second power saving state in which no power is supplied to the control unit.

An information processing apparatus includes plural communication units, a switching unit, and a controller. The plural communication units are configured to conduct a wireless communication at different communication speeds. If a communication is attempted to be started, the switching unit compares a priority of a user who is conducting a communication with a priority of a user who is attempting to start the communication, to switch a communication unit so that the user having a higher priority uses a communication unit having a faster communication speed. The controller is configured to perform a control to start the communication using the communication unit switched by the switching unit.

An information processing apparatus includes plural communication units, a switching unit, and a controller. The communication units are configured to conduct a wireless communication. The switching unit is configured to switch a first communication unit having a relatively fast communication speed to a second communication unit having a relatively slow communication speed if a communication is attempted to start and if the first communication unit is being used. The controller is configured to perform a control to start the communication by the first communication unit.

An information processing apparatus includes plural communication units, a determination unit, and a controller. The plural communication units are configured to be capable of conducting a wireless communication. The determination unit is configured to determine a communication unit from among the plural communication units in accordance with whether a mobile communication terminal that is attempting to conduct a communication is approaching the information processing apparatus. The controller is configured to perform a control so as to start the communication using the communication unit determined by the determination unit.

An information processing apparatus includes a communication unit, a first switching unit, and a second switching unit. The communication unit is configured to conduct a wireless communication using plural transmission methods, one of which has plural channels. The first switching unit switches between the channels according to quality of a communication that is being conducted. The second switching unit switches between the transmission methods when the first switching unit could not switch between the channels.

An information processing apparatus includes plural communication units, a determination unit, and a controller. The communication units are configured to conduct a wireless communication at different communication speeds. The determination unit is configured to determine a communication unit having a faster communication speed in order to transmit or receive an encrypted communication object. The controller is configured to perform a control to start a communication by the communication unit determined by the determination unit.

An information processing apparatus includes a communication unit, a first switching unit, and a second switching unit. The communication unit is configured to conduct a wireless communication using a plurality of transmission methods, one of which has plural channels. The first switching unit switches between the transmission methods according to quality of a communication that is being conducted. The second switching unit switches between the channels when the first switching unit could not switch between the transmission methods.

A communication apparatus includes: a transmitting unit that is capable of transmitting data to a designated destination through any of plural communication interfaces; a storage unit in which plural pieces of destination information are stored; and a registration unit that registers a communication interface used for data transmission in advance for each of the plural pieces of destination information stored in the storage unit.
