Text enhancement in printing material saving mode

System(s) and method(s) for text enhancement in printing material saving mode are described. In an example, a method comprises identifying a type of a pixel based on edge tag data associated with the pixel, where the edge tag data is indicative of whether the pixel is an edge pixel or a non-edge pixel. The method further comprises determining at least one material saving parameter based on the type of the pixel. Further, the method comprises modifying a quantization error value based on the at least one material saving parameter. The method further comprises distributing the modified quantization error to a set of unprocessed pixels.

ERROR DIFFUSION

In an example, a method includes identifying, within data for use in printing, a first element set associated with a first print addressable area, wherein elements of the element set are each associated with a print instruction. An element may be selected from the first element set and assigned to the first print addressable area. A second print addressable area may be identified as a candidate print addressable area for error diffusion, the second print addressable area being associated with a second element set. An error associated with the selection of the element from the first element set is scaled based on a criterion and may be diffused to elements of the second element set.

Diffusing an error in three-dimensional contone model data

A method of diffusing an error in three-dimensional contone model data includes generating halftone data for a slice among a number of slices of the three-dimensional contone model data, generating compensatory error values based on the generated halftone data, and adding the generated compensatory error values to contone data for a successive slice.

Determining halftone schemes

Methods and apparatus of determining a halftone scheme are described. In an example, data representing a three-dimensional object is obtained, the data comprising object model data representing the geometry of the three-dimensional object and object property data representing at least one object property of at least a portion of the object. It is determined if a halftone scheme dependent object property is specified by the object property data and a halftone scheme is determined. Data representing a portion of the object having a halftone scheme dependent object property is associated with a determined halftone scheme.

A system, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium are disclosed for mitigating dot placement errors for a given print job. The method includes processing tone values on a per pixel basis to determine whether to implement plane dependence. Plane independence is implemented if the tone value exceeds a predetermined threshold. The method may be performed on a pixel by pixel basis and/or a print object or region basis. Determining whether to implement plane dependence may involve de-asserting or partially de-asserting a plane dependence component of an executed half-toning instruction between sequentially processed color planes of a printing system.
