An image forming device includes an image forming unit that forms an image on a recording medium in response to an input of image data representing the image, a reading unit that reads a first image formed by the image forming device, and a second image formed by another image forming device to respectively generate a first read image and a second read image, the first image and the second image being formed based on identical image data, a discrimination unit that discriminates the first read image and the second read image from each other, and a color correction unit that performs, on the image formed by the image forming unit, a color correction that cancels out a difference in color between the first read image and the second read image.

Configuring an imaging system

Examples of a method and a system for configuring an imaging system are described. These examples involve obtaining a random sample of area coverage representations and grouping these by an estimated color, such as a colorimetric value. In each group a selected area coverage representation is determined with respect to one or more imaging attributes. A color gamut based on the random sample and the selected area coverage representations are used to generate a color mapping from an input color space to an area coverage representation space for use by the imaging system.

In response to determining that the image data has the at least one predetermined indicia, the method includes determining whether the at least one predetermined indicia corresponds to at least one invalidation mark on the identification document, and, in response to determining that the at least one predetermined indicia corresponds to the at least one invalidation mark, determining, that the identification document is invalid. In response to determining that the identification document is invalid, the method includes preventing or causing the prevention of at least one action from being performed. A system and computer program product for authenticating identification documents are also disclosed.
