IMAGE PROCESSING FOR INCREASING VISIBILITY OF OBSCURED PATTERNS
20220036603 · 2022-02-03 ·

Methods and systems disclosed herein relate generally to systems and methods for modifying pixel values of an image to improve the visibility of target pixel patterns. A pixel-simulation application accesses an initial image including an initial set of pixel values. The initial set of pixel values define, in an initial color space, a particular color of pixels that indicate a target pixel pattern. The pixel-simulation application generates, based on the initial set of pixel values, a simulated image including a modified set of pixel values that visually indicate another color of pixels in an intermediate color space. The pixel-simulation application generates a pixel map by identifying a difference between the initial set pixel values of the initial image and the modified set of pixel values of simulated image. The pixel-simulation application generates, for display, an output image based at least in part on the pixel map.

An image processing apparatus includes: a determining unit configured to determine a parameter for image processing for a special toner plate depending on a type of a special toner other than a process color toner; and an image processing unit configured to process an image of the special toner plate using the determined parameter.

Tone and gamut mapping methods and apparatus

Tone and/or gamut mapping apparatus and methods may be applied to map color values in image data for display on a particular display or other downstream device. A mapping algorithm may be selected based on location and/or color coordinates for pixel data being mapped. The apparatus and methods may be configured to map color coordinates differently depending on whether or not a pixel corresponds to a light source in an image and/or has special or reserved color values.

It is guaranteed that a designated color that is a target of spot color matching is converted correctly into a destination color thereof at the time of output. In a case where drawing data for causing an image output apparatus to perform drawing of an image is generated, whether a designated color in a first color space, which is included in an input image, is converted into a destination color in a second color space, which can be handled by the image output apparatus, is determined at the time of output of the image. Then, in a case where it is determined that the conversion is performed, control is performed such that color adjustment is not performed for at least the designated color of colors included the input image.

A method, system, apparatus, and/or device for displaying a portion of data so as to not obstruct a portion of a central visual field. The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include a display configured to display data and a processing device coupled to the display. The processing device may be configured to determine a position of an eye of a viewer with respect to the display, define a first region of the display substantially corresponding with a peripheral vision field of the eye, define a second region of the display substantially corresponding with a central visual field of the eye, send a first portion of the data to be displayed at the first region, and send a second portion of the data to be displayed at the second output region such that a portion of the central visual field is unobstructed by the second portion of the data.

METHOD FOR AUTOMATED GENERATION OF REFERENCE COLOR VALUES FOR COLOR CONTROL
20170223231 · 2017-08-03 ·

A method for the automated generation of reference color values for color control purposes in a printing machine by using a computer includes, within a process of setting up the printing machine for a print job, initially carrying out printing operations and using a spectrophotometer to determine coloration values for every process color used in the print job. For every process color that is used in the print job, the computer automatically selects that coloration value of a process color that has the smallest deviation from a color set point that has been established at the beginning of the job and saves this coloration value as a new reference value for this process color.

Three-dimensional printer color management

In some examples, with respect to three-dimensional printer color management, three-dimensional printer native space coordinates of a three-dimensional printer may be mapped to three-dimensional printer printing agent space coordinates of the three-dimensional printer. The three-dimensional printer printing agent space coordinates may be mapped to color space coordinates. The color space coordinates may be mapped to two-dimensional printer printing agent space coordinates of a two-dimensional printer. The two-dimensional printer printing agent space coordinates may be mapped to two-dimensional printer native space coordinates of the two-dimensional printer. A color management protocol of the two-dimensional printer may be utilized, based on the mapping of the three-dimensional printer native space coordinates to the two-dimensional printer native space coordinates, for the three-dimensional printer to print a three-dimensional object.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING PARAMETERS OF AN IMAGE PROCESSING PIPELINE OF A DIGITAL CAMERA
20170272619 · 2017-09-21 ·

A method and system for determining parameters of an image processing pipeline of a digital camera is disclosed. The image processing pipeline transforms captured image data on a scene into rendered image data. Rendered image data produced by the image processing pipeline of the camera is obtained from the captured image data on the scene. At least a subset of the captured image data on the scene is determined and a ranking order for pixels of the rendered image data is obtained. A set of constraints from the captured image data and the ranked rendered image data is determined, each constraint of the set being determined in dependence on selected pair combinations of pixel values when taken in said ranking order of the rendered image data and corresponding pair combinations of the captured image data. Parameters of the image processing pipeline are determined that satisfy the sets of constraints.
