Methods and systems for dynamic sharing of ICC profiles
Example embodiments relate to dynamic sharing of ICC profiles. A computing device may receive data representing a paper type, a customer precision requirement, and supporting parameters and perform a search of a paper catalog using the data for an existing ICC profile that satisfies the customer precision requirement. Search parameters used during the search of the paper catalog may depend on a level of the customer precision requirement. Responsive to identifying an ICC profile during the search of the paper catalog that satisfies the customer precision requirement and can be used by the printer make and model associated with the original request, the computing device may transmit the ICC profile to the requesting printer via a network. In some instances, the computing device may determine the paper catalog lacks an ICC profile that satisfies the customer precision requirement and transmit an indication that no existing ICC profile is available.

A image processing method includes a shifting step for determining whether to shift an identical color pixel region, in which two to N pixels of an identical color are arranged consecutively in a first direction, in the first direction or a direction opposite to the first direction within the image data, provided that N is an integer of 2 or greater, and shifting the identical color pixel region in the first direction or the direction opposite to the first direction when the shifting is determined to be performed, and an averaging step, in which in the shifting step, the shifting is determined to be performed when the identical color pixel region exists across two of the unit regions, and the identical color pixel region spanning across the two of the unit regions is shifted so as to be included in any one of the unit regions.
PRINTED MATTER PROCESSING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM FOR CREATING PRINTED MATTER BASED ON ENVIRONMENT
A printed matter processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires image data of an environment in which a printed matter is set, a processor, and a display unit, in which the processor configured to, by executing a program, input the image data acquired by the acquisition unit, display how the printed matter is seen in a case where the printed matter is set in the environment on the display unit, by compositing the printed matter in the image data in accordance with a printing condition of the printed matter, and decide the printing condition of the printed matter by changing the printing condition of the printed matter in accordance with a user operation and displaying the printed matter.
Color correction of imagery having different levels-of-detail
A method for color correcting imagery is disclosed. A plurality of images of a scene having different levels of detail is received. A first color correction is determined based on a first reference image and a first target image. The first reference image has a first level of detail and the first target image has a second level of detail greater than the first level of detail. The first color correction is applied to the first target image to generate a first color-corrected image having the second level of detail. A second color correction is determined based on the first color-corrected image and a second target image. The second target image has a third level of detail greater than the second level of detail. The second color correction is applied to the second target image to generate a second color-corrected image.

CHARACTERISTICS BASED OPERATION OF IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An example image forming apparatus includes a communicator to receive print data, an image forming unit, and a processor to control the image forming unit to perform image processing on the received print data and control the image forming unit to print the image-processed print data. When the received print data is not a scan file, the image processing is performed at a first level and when the received print data is a scan file, the image processing is performed at a second level, the second level being higher than the first level.
Image processing apparatus with detected color change orientation, image processing method, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium
An information processing apparatus transmits data to a printer and includes at least one memory device that stores a set of instructions, and at least one processor that executes the set of instructions to receive a print setting and a gradation object, detect an orientation of a color change in the gradation object and, based on the print setting and the detected orientation, determine whether the orientation of the color change in the gradation object when rendered in the printer matches a main scanning direction of the printer. Based on a determination that the orientation matches the main scanning direction, the gradation object is rendered in the information processing apparatus and then the rendered gradation object is transmitted to the printer, and based on a determination that the orientation does not match the main scanning direction, the gradation object is transmitted to the printer without rendering the gradation object in the information processing apparatus.
Processes for Printing Spot Colors
The present disclosure relates to a process for printing comprising the steps of selecting eight or fewer process colors from a known process ink color set, providing a color channel for the selected process colors from the known process ink color set, providing two or more spot color channels, wherein one or more of spot colors correspond to a non-selected process color of the process ink color set, applying a first ink limit and a first linearization to the one or more spot color channels to produce a color set including the non-selected process color of the known process ink color set, applying a second ink limit and a second linearization to the one or more spot color channels to produce a color set including the spot color, and optionally printing an image.
Hybrid framework-based image bit-depth expansion method and device
The present disclosure provides a hybrid framework-based image bit-depth expansion method and device. The invention fuses a traditional de-banding algorithm and a depth network-based learning algorithm, and can remove unnatural effects in an image flat area whilst more realistically restoring numerical information of missing bits. The method comprises the extraction of image flat areas, local adaptive pixel value adjustment-based flat area bit-depth expansion and convolutional neural network-based non-flat area bit-depth expansion. The present invention uses a learning-based method to train an effective depth network to solve the problem of realistically restoring missing bits, whilst using a simple and robust local adaptive pixel value adjustment method in an flat area to effectively inhibit unnatural effects in the flat area such as banding, a ringing and flat noise, improving subjective visual quality of the flat area.
