Color management system for application of color to substrates

Methods, systems and computer readable media for color management are described. In some implementations, the method can include accessing one or more buildup curves associated with a combination of a substrate, one or more colorants and a colorant dispenser. The method can also include accessing a design file specifying a design and including one or more layer files each specifying a layer color. The method can further include generating, for each layer color, a corresponding colorization recipe based on the one or more buildup curves. The method can also include creating a production job instruction/metadata file having a link to the design instruction/metadata file and including parameters associated with the colorant dispensing job to be carried out using the design instruction/metadata file.

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer program product, and system for cataloging images based on a gridded color histogram analysis. The computer accesses an image gallery specified by a user, wherein the image gallery is at least one of an image gallery stored on a user computing device, an image gallery stored on a user account at a third-party image storage, or an image gallery searched on the web. The computer receives a request to search the image gallery. The computer performs a search of the image gallery, wherein the search is using a color based histogram algorithm based on a user input. The computer transmits a cataloged and sorted image gallery to the user computing device to be displayed.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM

An information processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires a designated color which is designated as a color, which is converted into a specific color, of a pixel among pixels which express an image, a determination unit that determines whether or not a common color area, which is expressed by pixels in a common hue range, expresses prescribed information in the image, and a conversion unit that performs a first conversion process of converting a pixel corresponding to the acquired designated color into a specific color in the common color area which is determined to express the information, and performs a second conversion process of converting a pixel corresponding to a color in a wider hue range than the designated color into a specific color in the common color area which is determined to not express the information.

Image processing apparatus and method to generate recording data

Recording data for recording an achromatic color image having a high lightness is generated as follows. A first color material and a second color material which has a hue complementary to that of the first color material are used to record the image. Recording data is generated such that a recording amount of the first color material and a recording amount of the second color material are larger than a recording amount of another color material, and such that a pixel where it is determined that the first color material is to be recorded and a pixel where it is determined that the second color material is to be recorded are at positions different from each other.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM SUITABLE FOR EXTRACTING AREAS IN IMAGES SPECIFIED BY HANDWRITTEN MARKER BY LINE MARKER SUCH AS HIGHLIGHTER PEN OR THE LIKE, AND ELECTRONIC MARKER BY DIGITAL PEN

Provided is an image forming apparatus that extracts an area indicated by a marker. A scanner unit reads a first document having an area indicated by a handwritten marker. A panel unit displays first image data of the first document read by the scanner unit or second image data of the second document stored in a storage device. An electronic marker input unit indicates an area by an electronic marker with respect to the second image data. An area extracting unit, based on a hue difference, which is a difference between a color of the first document read by the scanner unit and a color of the handwritten marker, corrects a hue difference, which is a difference between a color of the second document and a color of the electronic marker, and extracts an area indicated by the handwritten marker or an area by the electronic marker.

IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM

An image forming system includes a first image forming apparatus, a second image forming apparatus, a determining unit, and a display unit. The first image forming apparatus includes a first image forming unit that forms an image with a first developer of a process color. The second image forming apparatus includes a second image forming unit that includes a second developer and that forms an image with the second developer. The second developer has characteristics different from characteristics of the first developer on a medium. The determining unit determines, on the basis of image formation conditions designated by a user, a printing order in which an image formed with the first developer and an image formed with a second developer are printed on one medium, and determines a sequence in which the image forming apparatuses perform image formation on the basis of the determined printing order. The display unit displays the sequence determined by the determining unit.

SETTING INK USE LIMITS FOR A PRINTING SYSTEM

An example method of setting ink limits for a printing system is described. The method involves printing a first set of color ramps. Each color ramp has test areas which are printed based different Neugebauer Primary Area Coverage (NPac) vectors. A test area for each color ramp is indicated that meets an image quality metric and Neugebauer Primary ink use limits are set based on these test areas. A second set of color ramps, for combinations of the set of available Neugebauer Primaries, is then printed, The test areas for each ramp are defined by monotonically-varying vector element values for one Neugebauer Primary in a combination and the second set of ramps are defined by monotonically-varying vector element values across said ramps for another Neugebauer Primary in a the combination. Test areas are then indicated again for the second set of color ramps to set ink use limits for the printing system.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a unit pixel including a first sub-pixel displaying a first color having a first hue, a second sub-pixel displaying a second color having a first hue, a third sub-pixel displaying a first color having a third hue, and a fourth sub-pixel displaying a second color having a fourth hue. The fourth hue corresponds to a point inside a triangle defined by three points corresponding to the first hue, the second hue, and the third hue. Luminance of the fourth sub-pixel is increased without increasing luminance of the third sub-pixel after luminance of the first sub-pixel reaches predetermined luminance.
