An illuminating device includes: a light source emitting excitation light; a wheel including a wheel substrate transmitting the excitation light and an illuminating light generating member provided on the first surface of the wheel substrate to generate illuminating light by the excitation light; a photo detector, arranged on the second surface side that is opposite to the first surface of the wheel substrate, detects light that passed through the wheel; and a control unit that determines whether a defect or degeneration has occurred in the illuminating light generating member, based on the light detected by the photo detector.
PROJECTOR AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A projector calculates an input-output characteristic for converting a tone value of an input image so as to perform display in a given projectable luminance range in a display absolute luminance range of an input signal, in accordance with the brightness of the projection surface. An output signal is generated from the input signal and projected, based on the calculated input-output characteristic. With the disclosed projector, image data having an input luminance range that is different from the output luminance range can be appropriately displayed.

The light source control unit performs control for causing at least one of the light sources other than a specific light source among the plurality of light sources to emit light with a smaller light emission amount than a light emission amount of the specific light.

A light source system (200), comprises: a light-emitting device (1) for emitting a first light and a second light in sequence; a beam splitting system (2) with which the first light emitted from the light-emitting device (1) is divided into one beam in a first range of wavelength and the other beam in a second range of wavelength, respectively emitted along a first optical path and a second optical path, and also with which at least a part of the second light emitted from the light-emitting device (1) is emitted along the first optical path; a first spatial light modulator (211) for modulating the beam emitted from the beam splitting system (2) along the first optical path; a second spatial light modulator (213) for modulating the beam emitted from the beam splitting system (2) along the second optical path. The light source system (200) has the advantages of high light-emitting efficiency and low cost. A projection system comprising the aforementioned light source system (200) is also provided.
Method and apparatus for correcting color convergence error
Provided are a method and an apparatus for correcting a color convergence error. The method includes: in a dark room environment, collecting a projection light point on a projection screen projected by a projection system, to obtain a projection image; adjusting the test pattern, so that a first projection light point corresponding to the white point of a first coordinate on the test pattern after being projected by a first color light source is located in a center of the projection image; obtaining a second and/or a third projection light points corresponding to the white point of the first coordinate after being projected by a second and/or a third color light sources from the projection image; and adjusting an assembly parameter of the projection system according to a position of the second and/or the third projection light points and a position of the first projection light point.

An information processing device which controls one projector and another projector includes: a display unit which displays a first operation screen for managing the one projector and a second operation screen for managing the another projector; an input unit which accepts an operation on the first operation screen and the second operation screen; and a control unit which controls the one projector and the another projector, based on the operation accepted by the input unit. When the information processing device is switched from a first state where the first operation screen is operable to a second state where the second operation screen is operable, the control unit causes the second operation screen where an item corresponding to a predetermined item selected on the first operation screen in the first state is selected, to be displayed in the second state.

A wavelength conversion device according to an aspect of the invention includes a rotary device having a rotary part rotating around an axis, a base member rotated around the axis by the rotary device, an inorganic wavelength conversion element provided to the base member, and a heat radiation member fixed to the base member, the heat radiation member has a ring-like shape surrounding the axis, and spreads outward in a radial direction of the axis beyond the base member, and the heat radiation member and the base member are formed separately from each other.
Projection display apparatus
A projection display apparatus includes: a laser light source which emits a blue light; a wheel which includes a light emitting body provided on a reflection surface of a substrate, the light emitting body emitting an emission light when the emitting body is irradiated with the blue light; a bandpass filter which is disposed on an optical path on which the emission light of the light emitting body travels; a plurality of optical modulating elements which modulate the blue light and the emission light from the light emitting body; and a projection unit which projects the light modulated by the plurality of optical modulating elements. The bandpass filter allows transmission of part of lights whose wavelength bands are 560 nm to 590 nm in the emission light of the light emitting body, and reflects other lights.
Methods and apparatus for diffraction artifact reduction in image display systems
For an example method of reducing diffraction artifacts in a displayed image from a digital image projection system, a digital controller is coupled to a spatial light modulator. The spatial light modulator includes a two dimensional array of pixels. The method includes receiving signals containing pixel image data and processing the pixel image data to determine a desired gray scale for a pixel. The desired gray scale is compared to achievable gray scales of the digital image projection system. An upper bounding achievable gray scale is determined, and a lower bounding achievable gray scale is determined. Also, a dithering percentage for the desired gray scale is determined. The method chooses one of the upper bounding achievable gray scale and the lower bounding achievable gray scale. Also, a modified lower bounding gray scale is chosen to reduce the dithering percentage.

An image display method includes according to image information of a current image frame to be displayed, adjusting the brightness of a first light source (11) having a first light field, and steering light of a second light source (12) to form a second light field, so as to enable the first light field provided by the second light source (11) and the second light field provided by the second light source (12) to work in concert to satisfy displaying of display partitions of the image frame to be displayed. The image display method implements high-dynamic range display of images, and facilitates improvement of dark field detail expression of images to be displayed. Also provided are an image display apparatus and a projection device.
