CLOSED LOOP DRIVING OF A HIGHLIGHTER TYPE PROJECTOR
A method for driving a projection system and a projection system including a phase modulator and at least one amplitude modulator. The phase modulator is configured to generate a highlight image incident on the amplitude modulator, the projector system further includes at least one image sensor configured to receive at least a portion of an illumination pattern substantially equivalent to the illumination pattern incident on the amplitude modulator, and the image sensor is being used to provide feedback to the controller of the projection system to improve the highlights projected by the projection system.
BEAM COMBINING FOR HIGHLIGHT PROJECTION
A novel projection system includes first and second light sources (e.g., sets of lasers), a spatial light modulator (SLM) that receives light from the first light source, and a beam steering device that receives light from the second light source and steers the light to highlight regions of the SLM. The SLM then modulates the light from both light sources to generate a highlighted imaging beam which can then be projected on a viewing surface. The highlighted imaging beam can represent a highlighted 2D image or a highlighted left- or right-eye view of a 3D image. The projection system thus improves peak brightness in the displayed highlighted images without incorporating a separate highlight projector or other expensive equipment. Methods for highlighting projected images are also described.

Picture selection method of projection touch
A picture selection method of projection touch for a projection touch system is provided. The projection touch system includes an image projection module, a sensing module, an image recognition module including at least one camera module and a processing unit. The picture selection method includes: the sensing module sensing and transferring a first projection coordinate on the target picture at a first time point of a sensing action; the sensing module sensing and transferring a second projection coordinate on the target picture at a second time point of the sensing action; the processing unit selecting at least one to-be-selected picture in the target picture based on the first and second projection coordinates and generating a set of selected image data; and the processing unit controlling the selected image data projected by the image projection module to move to a designated position according to a movement instruction of the user.
Composite-optical-system unit and projector
A composite-optical-system unit (40) includes a plurality of polarization beam splitters (400A, 400B, and 400C), a pair of spacer plates (420 or the like), and an optical element (411). Each of the pair of spacer plates (420) is arranged between the first polarization beam splitter (400A) and the second polarization beam splitter (400C) of the plurality of polarization beam splitters such that a first contact surface is fixed on an emission-side surface (403) of the first polarization beam splitter (400A) by surface contact, and a second contact surface is fixed on an incident-side surface (405a) of the second polarization beam splitter (400C) by surface contact. The optical element (411) is arranged between the pair of spacer plates (420).
IMAGE DISPLAY SYSTEM AND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD
An image display system (10) of the present invention includes: a sheet-shaped glass structure (11) containing a light scattering compound; and a light source (20) that irradiates one surface (11B) of the sheet-shaped glass structure (11) with light, wherein an images is displayed on the other surface (11F) of the sheet-shaped glass structure (11) by the light scattered by the light scattering compound. According to the present invention, in a rear projection-type image display system, image display with high contrast and high luminance is achieved, and a light source or the like disposed on the back surface side of the screen is less likely to be viewed.
PROJECTION DISPLAY DEVICE
A projection display device of a front projection type includes a light valve that modulates light based on image data and emits the light and an image forming optical system that projects an optical image of the light modulated by the light valve onto a projection surface, in which the image forming optical system includes a first optical system that includes at least one lens and a first reflection member that reflects the light emitted from the light valve toward the first optical system, the first optical system and the first reflection member are configured to be rotatable in a pitch direction, and the first reflection member rotates by a pitch angle θ/2 in conjunction with rotation of the first optical system by a pitch angle θ.

An in-flight entertainment system is disclosed. In various embodiments, the in-flight entertainment system includes a display having a viewing surface and a back surface opposite the viewing surface; and a projector connected to the display and configured to illuminate the viewing surface.
MULTI-HALF-TONE IMAGING AND DUAL MODULATION PROJECTION/DUAL MODULATION LASER PROJECTION
Smaller halftone tiles are implemented on a first modulator of a dual modulation projection system. This technique uses multiple halftones per frame in the pre-modulator synchronized with a modified bit sequence in the primary modulator to effectively increase the number of levels provided by a given tile size in the halftone modulator. It addresses the issue of reduced contrast ratio at low light levels for small tile sizes and allows the use of smaller PSFs which reduce halo artifacts in the projected image and may be utilized in 3D projecting and viewing.
