In particular, the present disclosure provides low power frameworks for processing, compressing, and transmitting images at a mobile image capture device. One example low power framework includes a scene analyzer that analyzes a scene depicted by a first image and determines whether to store the first image in a non-volatile memory or to discard the first image from a temporary image buffer without storing the first image in the non-volatile memory.

Method and system for detection of inherent noise present within a video source prior to digital video compression

A method and system detection of inherent noise present within a video source prior to digital video compression is disclosed. A noise image is extracted by subtracting a current image from its filtered version. Each pixel of the extracted noise image is normalized based on a determined principal edge image and the analog noise pixels are accumulated to generate an intermediate noise confidence value. Analog noise may be detected based on an analog noise confidence value generated based on the intermediate noise confidence value and a ringing metric, a blockiness metric, a motion vector cost of the current image, a blurriness exception weight, a flashiness exception weight, and a pan blur exception weight. The method may further comprise detection of high frequency noise based on determining a high frequency noise confidence value that may be based on a high frequency noise value and a frequency component with highest magnitude.

A transmission apparatus includes a reception unit and a superposition unit. The reception unit receives a parameter for setting a superposition mode in which superposition information is superposed on an image picked up by an image pickup unit from a setting apparatus. The superposition unit (i) selects, in accordance with the parameter received by the reception unit, one of a first superposition mode in which the superposition information is superposed on a predetermined position on a display screen of the picked-up image and a second superposition mode in which the superposition information is superposed on a position of the picked-up image in accordance with a change in the picked-up image displayed on the display screen and (ii) superposes the superposition information on the picked-up image.

Methods, systems, and media for generating a summarized video using frame rate modification are provided. In some embodiments, a method for editing a video is provided, the method comprising: receiving, using a hardware processor, a video file; identifying a plurality of frames at a playback frame rate from the video file; generating an edited video file by extracting a subset of the plurality of frames, wherein the extracted frames in the subset of the plurality of frames are separated by a predetermined length in the plurality of frames and wherein extracting the subset of the plurality frames modifies a frame rate of at least a portion of the video file to an effective frame rate; storing the edited video file; and presenting the edited video file at the playback frame rate.

RECORDING DEVICE AND MULTIPLEXING METHOD

A recording device includes a video encoding unit configured to compress and then encode video data pieces by a first unit of data, an audio encoding unit configured to compress and then encode audio data pieces in a second unit of data, and a multiplexing unit. The multiplexing unit selects the audio data pieces by the second unit of data from the audio data pieces in such a way that an amount of temporal shift between the respective video data pieces and the audio data pieces corresponding to the respective video data pieces will become less than or equal to a time length of the second unit of data and then multiplexes the selected audio data pieces with the video data.

Real-Time Data Acquisition and Recording System Viewer

A data acquisition and recording system (DARS) and viewer for mobile assets that includes a data encoder, onboard data manager, and at least one local memory module. DARS processes video data from at least one 360 degree camera and stores a compressed record of the data at least once per second in the local memory module. DARS is designed to run in near real-time mode, storing a full record comprising five minutes of data to a remote memory module every five minutes, and in real-time mode, streaming video data to the remote memory module by uploading a record of data at least once per second and up to once every tenth of a second. Remotely located users can view video, audio, and data in various view modes through a web browser or virtual reality device, which provides for quicker emergency response, validate the effectiveness of repairs and rerouting, and monitor crew performance and safety.

Imaging apparatus with image-capturing data and management information thereof saved as an incomplete file

An imaging apparatus includes: an imager that captures a subject image to generate image-capturing data; a memory that temporarily stores the image-capturing data; an image processor that performs image processing on the image-capturing data to generate image data; an interface detachably connected to an external non-volatile recording medium; and a controller that records the image data in the recording medium. The controller saves the image-capturing data from the memory by writing, in the recording medium, the image-capturing data as an incomplete file being a file format defined to manage, in the recording medium, the image-capturing data as a saving state where the image processing is not completed on the image-capturing data. The controller reads the saved image-capturing data from the recording medium into the memory, causes the image processor to perform the image processing, and records obtained image data by the image processing into the recording medium.

In one embodiment, a computing device receives, from one or more cameras, a video stream comprising multiple frames, where the video stream is received at a first quality. The computing device analyzes, using a machine-learning model, images in the frames, where the machine-learning model has been trained to detect one or more objects-of-interest in the images. The computing device identifies a sequence-of-interest including consecutive frames of the video stream, where at least one object-of-interest was detected in at least one of the consecutive frames. The computing device generates a video package including the sequence-of-interest.
