A method of video processing is described. The method includes determining, for a conversion between a current video block of a video and a coded representation of the video, whether a certain partitioning scheme is allowed for the current video block according to a rule that depends on a coding mode type used for representing the current video block in the coded representation and a dimension of the current video block; and performing the conversion based on the determining.

Video coding using a coded picture buffer

Interpolation between explicitly signaled CPB (or HRD) parameters at selected bit rates is used to achieve a good compromise between CPB parameter transmission capacity and CPB parametrization effectiveness and may be, particularly, made in an effective manner.

TECHNIQUES OF MULTI-HYPOTHESIS MOTION COMPENSATION

The present disclosure describes techniques for coding and decoding video in which a plurality of coding hypotheses are developed for an input pixel block of frame content. Each coding hypothesis may include generation of prediction data for the input pixel block according to a respective prediction search. The input pixel block may be coded with reference to a prediction block formed from prediction data derived according to plurality of hypotheses. Data of the coded pixel block may be transmitted to a decoder along with data identifying a number of the hypotheses used during the coding to a channel. At a decoder, an inverse process may be performed, which may include generation of a counterpart prediction block from prediction data derived according to the hypothesis identified with the coded pixel block data, then decoding of the coded pixel block according to the prediction data.

This application provides a method for constructing a motion information list in video encoding and decoding performed by a computer device. The method includes: obtaining a motion information list, which is a candidate motion information list is used for providing a candidate prediction displacement vector; determining at least one piece of motion information when a length of the motion information list meets a condition; and adding the at least one piece of motion information to the candidate motion information list to obtain an updated motion information list when a length of the candidate motion information list is less than a threshold. According to the embodiments of this application, by filling a motion information list using extra motion information when motion information included in the motion information list is insufficient, more effective displacement vectors are provided in the motion information list to achieve a better displacement vector prediction effect.
