Processing media by adaptive group of pictures structuring
A spatial complexity and a temporal complexity associated with one or more frames of media content may be determined. Based on the spatial complexity and the temporal complexity of the media content, a Group of Picture (GOP) size for the one or more frames of the media content may be determined. The GOP size may be inversely proportional to the spatial complexity and the temporal complexity of the one or more frames of media content. Certain frames of the media content may be arranged in a different GOP size as compared to one or more other frames of the media content. By varying the GOP size of the plurality of frames of the media content, the bitrate required to transmit the media content may be decreased without decreasing or substantially decreasing the overall quality of the media content.
METHOD FOR ENCODING VIDEO DATA, DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided is a method for encoding video data. The method includes: acquiring video data; configuring an encoding parameter of an encoder; determining a first time interval between two adjacent video frames in a group of pictures based on the encoding parameter; and adjusting a number of video frames in the group of pictures based on the first time interval by encoding the video data based on the encoding parameter. A device and a storage medium are also provided.

Video analysis method of a compressed video by use of branching by motion vector
The present invention generally relates to a technology of effectively performing video analysis of a compressed video (e.g., H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC) in a video analysis system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a video analysis technology of a compressed video (e.g., CCTV video) in which branching in the video analysis process is performed with referring to motion vectors which have been obtained by parsing the compressed video, so that computing resource for the video analysis of the compressed video may be lowered. The present invention may provide an advantage of lowering the computer resource which is required for analyzing a compressed video (e.g., CCTV video).

ENCODING A VIDEO FRAME AS A REFERENCE FRAME BASED ON A SCENE CHANGE HINT AT A CLOUD GAMING SERVER
A method for encoding including executing game logic built on a game engine of a video game at a cloud gaming server to generate video frames. The method including executing scene change logic to predict a scene change in the video frames based on game state collected during execution of the game logic. The method including identifying a range of video frames that is predicted to include the scene change. The method including generating a scene change hint using the scene change logic, wherein the scene change hint identifies the range of video frames, wherein the range of video frames includes a first video frame. The method including delivering the first video frame to an encoder. The method including sending the scene change hint from the scene change logic to the encoder. The method including encoding the first video frame as an I-frame based on the scene change hint.
Method and Apparatus of Face Independent Coding Structure for VR Video
A method and apparatus of video encoding or decoding for a video encoding or decoding system applied to multi-face sequences corresponding to a 360-degree virtual reality sequence are disclosed. According to embodiments of the present invention, at least one face sequence of the multi-face sequences is encoded or decoded using face-independent coding, where the face-independent coding encodes or decodes a target face sequence using prediction reference data derived from previous coded data of the target face sequence only. Furthermore, one or more syntax elements can be signaled in a video bitstream at an encoder side or parsed from the video bitstream at a decoder side, where the syntax elements indicate first information associated with a total number of faces in the multi-face sequences, second information associated with a face index for each face-independent coded face sequence, or both the first information and the second information.
Randomly accessible visual information recording medium and recording method, and reproducing device and reproducing method
Access point pictures designated as randomly accessible positions are I pictures or P pictures. Information indicating the decoding sequence (I1, P1, B1, B2, B3, B4, P2, . . . ) of pictures functioning as access points and attribute information (picture_type) indicating whether a picture functions as an access point or is necessary for decoding of the access point following a given access point are recorded on the video information recording medium. Random access is possible even if the GOP interval is lengthened.

METHOD AND IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE FOR ENCODING A VIDEO
A method and image processing device for encoding a video comprising a sequence of image frames captured between a first and a second time is disclosed. The method comprises encoding a subset of the image frames, wherein the image frames of the subset are distributed over the sequence and storing the remaining image frames of the sequence. After the second time, the encoded subset is decoded and the stored remaining image frames as well as the decoded encoded subset are encoded to generate the encoded video. Alternatively, the stored remaining image frames are encoded and the encoded subset added to generate the encoded video.
