Search region for motion vector refinement
The embodiments disclosed herein relate to the construction of a search space for determining a motion vector for a current block of a picture in a video sequence. The search space construction is split into in two main stages, wherein a first and a second partial search space are respectively determined. Based on an initial estimate of a motion vector, a first search space is first constructed. A first and a second candidate motion of the first search space are identified according to a cost function. Based on the first and the second candidate motion vectors, a second search space is constructed. The motion vector for the current block is selected from the candidate motion vectors of the first search space and the second search space.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING VIDEO SIGNAL
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing a video signal, which can increase the accuracy of the motion vector prediction through motion vector scaling which takes a difference in the temporal distance between reference pictures into consideration. To this end, the present invention provides a video signal processing method and a video signal processing apparatus using the same, and the method comprises the steps of: scaling at least one neighboring partition motion vector for a motion vector prediction of the current partition; scaling the neighboring partition motion vector, which has been selected, when the reference picture of the neighboring partition motion vector is different from the reference picture of the current partition; acquiring a motion vector prediction value of the current partition using the scaled motion vector; and acquiring a motion vector of the current partition using the motion vector prediction value.

METHOD AND APPARATUS OF ENCODING/DECODING IMAGE DATA BASED ON TREE STRUCTURE-BASED BLOCK DIVISION
Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for image data encoding/decoding. A method of decoding an image includes receiving a bitstream in which the image is encoded; obtaining index information for specifying a block division type of a current block in the image; and determining the block division type of the current block from a candidate group pre-defined in the decoding apparatus. The candidate group includes a plurality of candidate division types, including at least one of a non-division, a first quad-division, a second quad-division, a binary-division or a triple-division. The method also includes dividing the current block into a plurality of sub-blocks; and decoding each of the sub-blocks with reference to syntax information obtained from the bitstream.
IMAGE DATA ENCODING/DECODING METHOD AND APPARATUS
Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for decoding an image. A method includes receiving a bitstream obtained by encoding the image; dividing a first coding block into a plurality of second coding blocks; generating a prediction block of a second coding block based on syntax information obtained from the bitstream; and reconstructing the second coding block based on the prediction block and a residual block of the second coding block, the residual block being obtained by performing a dequantization and an inverse-transform on quantized transform coefficients from the bitstream. The first coding block has a recursive division structure. The first coding block is divided based on at least one of a quad tree division, a binary tree division or a triple tree division.

VIDEO PROCESSING USING LOCAL ILLUMINATION COMPENSATION
A video processing method is provided to include: determining, based on a position rule, whether a local illumination compensation (LIC) tool is enabled for a conversion between a current block in a video region of a video and a coded representation of the video, and performing the conversion based on the position rule. The position rule specifies that the LIC tool is enabled for blocks on boundaries of the video region and disabled for blocks inside the video region and the LIC tool includes using a linear model of illumination changes in the current block during the conversion.
