A method for decoding an encoded code stream is provided. The method may include obtaining the encoded code stream. The method may include determining a plurality of code blocks based on the encoded code stream. The method may include determining a plurality of bit-planes for each of the plurality of code blocks, the plurality of bit-planes ranging from a most significant bit-plane to a least significant bit-plane. The method may include determining at least one query-plane for each of the plurality of bit-planes. The method may further include decoding each of the plurality of bit-planes based on the at least one query-plane.
ERROR-RESILIENT CODER OF IMAGE SEQUENCES AND VIDEO
A method, computer system, and a computer program product is disclosed for encoding a sequence of frames as one or more compressed bitstreams, the method includes a processor obtaining a sequence of frames in an order and performing a wavelet transform on each frame of the sequence of frames independently in the order. The processor constructs a significant points list and an insignificant sets list, creating one or more spatial trees comprised of branch nodes of the list of insignificant sets for each frame of the sequence of frames. The processor initializes the significant points list and the list of insignificant sets for each frame and identifies a most significant bit in each frame and for each frame, selects at least one coding unit and creates a progressive significance map for coding. The processor writes a global header and a local header for the compressed bitstreams for each coding unit.
IMAGE DECODING METHOD AND DEVICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH BLOCK SPLIT STRUCTURE IN IMAGE CODING SYSTEM
An image decoding method performed by means of a decoding device according to the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining first split information relating to a first target block; if the first split information indicates that the first target block is to be split, splitting the first target block into first sub-blocks; obtaining MPT split information relating to a second target block which is one of the first sub-blocks of the first target block; splitting the second target block into second sub-blocks on the basis of the MPT split information; and decoding the second sub-blocks, wherein the second sub-blocks are non-square blocks.
Method and device for filtering image in image coding system
A filtering method by a decoding device according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving information relating to ALF control depth; deciding an ALF control unit on the basis of information relating to the division depth and the ALF control depth of a current block in a restoration picture with respect to a current picture; determining whether or not ALF is applied to the current block in an ALF control unit level; and, if the ALF is determined to be applied to the current block, performing the ALF for the current block. In the filtering method, the current picture is recursively divided on the basis of a QTBT structure, and the current block is one of blocks divided on the basis of the QTBT structure.
JVET CODING BLOCK STRUCTURE WITH ASYMMETRICAL PARTITIONING
A method of partitioning a video coding block for JVET, comprising representing a JVET coding tree unit as a root node in a quadtree plus binary tree (QTBT) structure that can have a quadtree branching from the root node and binary trees branching from each of the quadtree's leaf nodes using asymmetric binary partitioning to split a coding unit represented by a quadtree leaf node into two child coding units of unequal size, representing the two child coding units as leaf nodes in a binary tree branching from the quadtree leaf node and coding the child coding units represented by leaf nodes of the binary tree with JVET, wherein further partitioning of child coding units split from quadtree leaf nodes via asymmetric binary partitioning is disallowed.

An image encoding method includes configuring block division information and size information of a boundary block which is located at a boundary of an image and is smaller than a size of a basic encoding block, on the basis of size information of a picture and size information of the basic encoding block; dividing the boundary block into at least one encoding block, on the basis of the size information of the basic encoding block and the size information and the block division information of the boundary block; and encoding the at least one divided encoding block.

Apparatus comprises video data decoder circuitry configured to decode an input video data stream, the video data decoder being responsive to parameter data associated with the input video data stream, the parameter data indicating a profile selected from a plurality of profiles, each profile defining a decoding attribute comprising one or more of a bit depth and a chrominance subsampling format; detector circuitry configured to detect constraint data associated with the input video data stream, the constraint data defining a difference between a decoding attribute applicable to the input video data stream and the decoding attribute defined by the profile indicated by the parameter data, in which the constraint data is configured to indicate a zero difference of the decoding attribute by a zero value of the constraint data; and control circuitry configured to control the video data decoder to decode the input video data stream to generate a decoded video data stream having a decoding attribute defined by the encoding profile provided by the parameter data, as modified by the difference defined by the constraint data.
HASH-BASED ACCESSING OF GEOMETRY OCCUPANCY INFORMATION FOR POINT CLOUD CODING
A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for decoding point cloud data. Data corresponding to a point cloud is received. Hash elements corresponding to one or more neighboring nodes associated with a current node are identified. A size of a hash table is decreased based on deleting one or more of the hash elements corresponding to non-border regions of the one or more neighboring nodes. The data corresponding to the point cloud is decoded based on the hash table having the decreased size.
Image decoding method and device in accordance with block split structure in image coding system
An image decoding method performed by means of a decoding device according to the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining first split information relating to a first target block; if the first split information indicates that the first target block is to be split, splitting the first target block into first sub-blocks; obtaining MPT split information relating to a second target block which is one of the first sub-blocks of the first target block; splitting the second target block into second sub-blocks on the basis of the MPT split information; and decoding the second sub-blocks, wherein the second sub-blocks are non-square blocks.
Encoding and decoding a sequence of pictures
An apparatus for decoding a sequence of pictures from a data stream is configured for decoding a picture of the sequence by deriving a residual transform signal of the picture from the data stream; combining a residual transform signal with a buffered transform signal approximation of a previous picture of the sequence so as to obtain a transform signal representing the picture, the transform signal comprising a plurality of transform coefficients; and subjecting the transform signal to a spectral-to-spatial transformation. The apparatus is configured for deriving the buffered transform signal approximation from a further transform signal representing the previous picture so that the buffered transform signal approximation comprises approximations of further transform coefficients of the further transform signal.
