The face (220) has a flow-inhibiting portion (222, 222a, 222b, 222c) that is at least substantially flush with the flow-through portion (221) so as to delimit the seat (20). The flow-inhibiting portion (222, 222a, 222b, 222c) is configured such that beverage flowing out the seat (20) is inhibited, e.g. prevented, from passing through the flow-inhibiting portion (222, 222a, 222b, 222c).
BEVERAGE EXTRACTION UNIT WITH MOVABLE OUTFLOW OBSTRUCTOR
The invention relates to a beverage extraction unit (1) for extracting a beverage from an exchangeable single-serve portioned capsule (2) containing beverage ingredients and being configured with a flow restricting member for extracting capsules at different beverage pressure and flow conditions. The invention also relates to the beverage machine comprising the extraction unit.
REMOVAL OF A CAPSULE FROM A CAPSULE HOLDER
A capsule processing machine (1) for preparing a beverage from a capsule (5) having a body (50) containing an ingredient. The machine (1) has a holder (10) with a cavity (11) having an upwardly oriented mouth (12) and a cover (20) cooperating with the holder (10). The cover (20) and the holder (10) are relatively movable along a movement path (14) from: an open position for inserting the capsule (5) inbetween the holder (10) and cover (20) into the cavity (11) and/or for removing the capsule (5) therefrom; to a closed position for extracting the capsule (5) in the cavity (11). The machine (1) includes a capsule transfer device (30) having a capsule guide (31) for guiding the capsule (5) from the holder (10) to a used-capsule evacuation area (40). The capsule guide (31) extends along an evacuation direction (31) and is configured to seize the capsule (5) and hold the capsule (5) above the holder (10) and to guide the capsule (5) towards the evacuation area (40) along the evacuation direction (31). The movement path (14) and the evacuation direction (31) are at an angle (1,2,3,4) favouring a movement of the capsule (5) under the effect of gravity along the capsule guide (31) towards the evacuation area (40). The capsule guide (31) is tillable during the relative movement of the holder (10) and the cover (20) from the closed position to the open position to reduce the angle (1,2,3,4) so as to increase the effect of gravity for moving the capsule (5).
Adjustable Brew Head Linkage
An adjustable brew head linkage includes a brew head linkage element, a handle linkage element, and an adjusting element between the brew head linkage element and the handle linkage element to smoothly increase and decrease the distance between the brew head linkage element and the handle linkage element to alter the size of a corresponding brew chamber to accommodate various brew pods. The brew head linkage element and/or handle linkage element may include a threaded portion to engage the adjusting element. Turning the adjusting element causes deflection. Threaded portions may have opposite handedness or different pitches. A secondary brew head linkage locking element provides friction to lock the adjusting element in place. The adjusting element increases and decreases the distance between the head linkage and the handle linkage in increments smaller than 0.178 millimeters ( 7/1000 inches).
A BREWING DEVICE FOR A MACHINE FOR PREPARING BEVERAGES, IN PARTICULAR COFFEE OR TEA
A brewing device for a machine for preparing beverages, in particular coffee or tea, in which the brewing device comprising a brewing chamber having a longitudinal axis, a frame having two walls arranged on opposite sides of the brewing chamber, and a fastening device. The fastening device is configured to releasably couple the brewing device to a support body in the beverage preparation machine and comprises a lever release device hinged to the frame to rotate about an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis between a normal coupling position, in which the lever release device stably holds the brewing device on the support body, and a release position, in which the lever release device allows the brewing device to be released from, or mounted on, the support body.
A BREWING DEVICE FOR A MACHINE FOR PREPARING BEVERAGES, IN PARTICULAR COFFEE OR TEA
The present disclosure is for an electronic control system for a brewing device for a machine for preparing beverages, in particular coffee or tea. The brewing device comprises a brewing chamber having an opening through which a material to be brewed may be loaded and discharged; a closing body movable away from and towards a sealed closing position of the opening angularly spaced apart from the closing position, through an intermediate ejection position, in which the closing body is raised with respect to the closing position along the longitudinal axis of the brewing chamber; a piston slidably mounted in the brewing chamber in a position axially opposite the closing body; a first electric actuating device for the movement of the closing body; and a second electric actuating device for the movement of the piston. The electronic control system is configured to be arrangeable in the brewing device and comprises a sensory system configured to output electrical signals to allow the reaching, by the closing body, of the opening, closing and ejection positions to be sensed, and the axial position of the piston in the brewing chamber to be determined, and an on-board electronic control unit configured to be connectable to the sensory system to receive electrical signals therefrom, to the first and second electric actuating device to supply electrical control signals thereto, and to an electronic control unit of the beverage preparation machine external to the brewing device to receive therefrom commands relating to the operation of the brewing device. The on-board electronic control unit is further configured to execute commands received from the external control unit to responsively output, also based on the electrical signals received from the sensory system, electrical control signals for the electric actuating devices.
Beverage producing machine
The beverage producing machine comprises a brewing chamber and at least one hydraulic actuator for controlling closing and opening movement of the chamber. A water pump, fluidly connected to the chamber through a first water path and fluidly connected to the actuator through a second water path delivers pressurized water to the chamber and actuator, respectively. A water heater and a first valve arrangement are arranged along the first water path. A second valve arrangement is positioned along the second water path, between the water pump and the actuator. The first and second valve arrangements are configured and controlled such that during a brewing chamber closure step the first valve arrangement is closed, and the second valve arrangement is open. Upon reaching a closure pressure in the actuator, the second valve arrangement is closed and the first valve arrangement is opened, allowing water to be delivered to the chamber.
