The mixing unit (20) has a first module (21) and a second module (22) that are relatively movable from: a distant configuration for inserting an ingredient between the first and second modules (21,22); to a proximate position for combining such ingredient with water (2) supplied by the water circuit (12,13) so as to form the beverage (3). The machine has: a further unit (30) fluidically connected to the water circuit (12,13) and to an outlet (33) for dispensing to a consumer cup or mug water (2) supplied by the water circuit (12,13); and a water directing device (14) fluidically connected to the water circuit (12,13), to the mixing unit (20) and to the further unit (30). The actuator (13) is controlled by the control unit (40) to relatively move the first and the second parts (11, 12) when the detecting arrangement (30) detects the presence of said receptacle (4) in the receptacle placing area.

The module (2) comprises a module actuator (21) for driving the first and second parts (25, 26) from the transfer configuration to the processing configuration and vice-versa, the actuator (21) being independent of the motor (11). The control unit (3) is arranged to activate the liquid driver (31) and the motor (11) upon receiving a user-instruction from the user-interface (32) independently of a presence or an absence of a receptacle (60) in the dispensing area (6).

A motorized beverage machine (1) has a brewing unit (2) that comprises a first assembly (13) and a second assembly (14) cooperating together, each assembly (13,14) delimiting part of a brewing chamber (29) for containing an ingredient capsule (30). The machine comprises activation means including: a motor for driving the movable assembly between the open and closed positions and transmission means for transmitting the drive action of the motor to the movable assembly; water supply means for supplying heated water to brewing chamber; control means for controlling the drive action of the motor comprising means for measuring at least one electrical parameter representative of the motor power consumption and for comparing the evolution of said measured parameter as a function of time during the transfer of the assembly from the open to the closed position to a set reference and means for providing an input to at least one of the activation means as a result of the compared evolution of the measured parameter to the set reference.

BEVERAGE PRODUCING MACHINE
The beverage producing machine comprises a brewing chamber and at least one hydraulic actuator for controlling closing and opening movement of the chamber. A water pump, fluidly connected to the chamber through a first water path and fluidly connected to the actuator through a second water path delivers pressurized water to the chamber and actuator, respectively. A water heater and a first valve arrangement are arranged along the first water path. A second valve arrangement is positioned along the second water path, between the water pump and the actuator. The first and second valve arrangements are configured and controlled such that during a brewing chamber closure step the first valve arrangement is closed, and the second valve arrangement is open. Upon reaching a closure pressure in the actuator, the second valve arrangement is closed and the first valve arrangement is opened, allowing water to be delivered to the chamber.

When the brewing member and the brewing compartment move towards each other, the second guide channel is closed, and the first guide channel is open to guide fluid in the brewing compartment to the guide member. When the brewing member and the brewing compartment move away from each other, the first guide channel is closed, and the second guide channel is open to guide residual fluid in the first guide channel and the guide member to the brewing compartment for discharging via the brewing port.
