CONTENT CONTINUATION METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
The method includes: A first electronic device displays a control center on a first interface, where the control center includes a device list including one or more electronic devices, and the one or more electronic devices and the first electronic device are in a same content continuation system. The first electronic device receives a first selection operation of selecting a second electronic device from the one or more electronic devices by a user. In response to the first selection operation, the first electronic device determines whether the first electronic device is a source device or a target device of a current content continuation task. If the first electronic device is the target device of the current content continuation task, the first electronic device switches content in the second electronic device to the first electronic device for continuous playing.
METHOD OF CONTROLLING SINK DEVICE, SOURCE DEVICE, AND HIGH-DEFINITION MULTIMEDIA INTERFACE (HDMI)
The present disclosure provides a method of controlling a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI). The method includes: reading, by a source device, extended display identification data (EDID) of a sink device when the sink device and the source device are connected; writing information about the source device in a status and control data channel (SCDC) structure; and reading, by the source device, the EDID again based on a predetermined field value included in the SCDC structure.
SOURCE DEVICE AND WIRELESS SYSTEM
According to an embodiment, a source device for providing a screen sharing service with a sync device may include a display, a communication circuit configured to perform communication with the sync device, and a processor configured to receive a connection request for the screen sharing service from the sink device through the communication circuit, execute a home application for providing a home screen of the sink device according to the received connection request, display an execution screen of the home application on the display according to execution of the home application, and transmit image data corresponding to the displayed execution screen of the home application to the sink device through the communication circuit.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR PRESENTING NOTIFICATIONS INDICATING RECOMMENDED CONTENT
Methods, systems, and media for presenting notifications indicating recommended content are provided. A notification of recommended content can be provided. An indication that a user device has initiated a casting session with a display device can be received. A request for recommended content to be presented on the display device can be received. A media content item can be identified based on at least one media content item that has been previously selected by a user account associated with the user device. A notification can be generated that includes an indication of the identified media content item and a selectable input that, when selected, causes the identified media content item to begin being presented on the display device.
METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR PLAYING MEDIA DATA, AND DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided is a method for playing media data. The method includes: receiving a trigger instruction; generating a second count value based on a stored first count value and a preset algorithm, and storing the second count value to overwrite the first count value, wherein the second count value is different from the first count value; generating audio data carrying a pre-stored authority identifier and the second count value; and playing the audio data, wherein the audio data is configured to instruct a second terminal to acquire the authority identifier and the second count value carried in the audio data, and send the authority identifier and the second count value to a server, and the second terminal is a terminal that has received the audio data.
CONTENT-MODIFICATION SYSTEM WITH FEATURE FOR DETECTING AND RESPONDING TO CONTENT MODIFICATIONS BY TUNER DEVICES
In one aspect, a method includes identifying a group of multiple content-presentation devices that are tuned to the same channel and that are each scheduled to perform, at a modification start-time, a respective content-modification operation that comprises modifying a modifiable content-segment in connection with an upcoming content-modification opportunity on the channel. The method also includes determining that, after the modification start-time, at least a subgroup of the group of content-presentation devices have detected a mismatch between reference fingerprint data representing the modifiable content-segment and query fingerprint data representing content received by at least the subgroup of content-presentation devices. The method also includes determining that at least the subgroup of content-presentation devices are connected to tuner devices associated with the same content distributor and, in response to determining that at least the subgroup of content-presentation devices are connected to tuner devices associated with the same content distributor, performing an action.
Methods and systems for detecting audio output of associated device
Systems and methods for determining whether a first electronic device detects a media item that is to be output by a second electronic device is described herein. In some embodiments, an individual may request, using a first electronic device, that a media item be played on a second electronic device. The backend system may send first audio data representing a first response to the first electronic device, along with instructions to delay outputting the first response, as well as to continue sending audio data of additional audio captured thereby. The backend system may also send second audio data representing a second response to the second electronic device along with the media item. Text data may be generated representing the captured audio, which may then be compared with text data representing the second response to determine whether or not they match.
Combined Media Capability for Multiple Media Devices
Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for a media device receiving from a source media device a request about a media capability of the media device, and identifying a data block indicating a default capability of the media device. The media device can further select a data unit of the data block to be replaced based on a media capability of a downstream media device attached to the media device. Afterward, the media device can modify the data block by replacing the selected data unit by information indicating the media capability of the downstream media device to generate a modified data block to represent a combined media capability of the media device and the downstream media device. In addition, the media device can send the modified data block to the source media device.
Methods of using proxy IP addresses and redirection for cross-device actions
A profile provider: (i) associates a primary online device (OD1) with a set-top box (STB); (ii) a location of OD1 at some point in time is estimated to be “near” the STB, thereby establishing a STB proxy location; (iii) one or more secondary online devices (OD2s) are observed to be located “near” the STB proxy location and are associated with the STB; and (iv) a television advertisement is selected to be directed to the STB, which selection is based at least in part on profile information linked to one of the associated OD2s. The method can be particularly advantageous in situations wherein: the STB is not connected to any computer network; the STB is not ever connected to the same local area network as OD1 or OD2; or television service (used by the STB) and online access (used by OD1 and OD2s) are provided by different service providers.
