System and Method for Exploring Immersive Content and Immersive Advertisements on Television
A system for navigating, exploring, and controlling immersive content and immersive advertisements provided on one or more OTT television applications using connected digital media players and/or user computing devices is presented. Immersive content and immersive advertisements are content and advertisements that can be viewed in 360 degrees so as to change the point of view and view the same content or advertisement from different angles. The user is enabled to control the playback, navigation, and exploration of the 360-degree immersive content and immersive advertisements using a digital trackpad in a downloadable 360-degree media player that can be applied as a separate application integration on a user's smartphone or other device or that can be integrated into the OTT mobile application. Other connected streaming devices can also integrate the 360-degree media player to allow for 360 degree exploration and viewing of the immersive content and immersive advertisements.
REFLECTIVE VIDEO DISPLAY APPARATUS FOR INTERACTIVE TRAINING AND DEMONSTRATION AND METHODS OF USING SAME
A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUGMENTING PRESENTATION OF MEDIA CONTENT USING DEVICES IN AN ENVIRONMENT
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining, from a network server device, first information regarding a first device, generating a media control package based on the first information, wherein the media control package relates to primary content to be presented, wherein the primary content is associated with a first timestamp that corresponds to a first event or context in the primary content, and wherein the media control package includes a first instruction for controlling the first device when a playback position of the primary content corresponds to the first timestamp, and causing the media control package to be provided to the network server device to enable augmentation of a presentation of the first event or context via control of the first device, in accordance with the first instruction, when the playback position of the primary content corresponds to the first timestamp. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Customized 360-degree media viewing
A device may be configured to render at least one spatial region of 360-degree media content, which may include two or more spatial regions. The device may include a receiver configured to receive the 360-degree media content and metadata associated with the 360-degree content. The metadata may include a classification of a respective spatial region of the 360-degree media content. The device may further include a memory configured to store a user preference and a sensor configured to detect a user movement. The device may include a processor configured to determine that the user movement is associated with a rendering of the respective spatial region. The processor may further determine whether the classification complies with the user preference and alter the rendering of the respective spatial region if the classification violates the user preference.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SHARING MEDIA RESOURCES FOR NETWORK BASED COMMUNICATION
The present disclosure relates to a system and method to facilitate sharing media resources of a computing device with a data device integrated with the system for enabling a network based communication with a remote device. In an exemplary implementation, the proposed system receives a device information pertaining to available computing devices through a discovery manager. The system selects the computing device from the available computing devices. The system enables to initiate a communication between the data device and the remote device. Upon initiation of the communication, the system receives a communication data from the computing device. The system transmits the received communication data to the remote device for facilitating the network based communication with the remote device.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SEAMLESSLY TRANSPORTING OBJECTS BETWEEN CONNECTED DEVICES FOR ELECTRONIC TRANSACTIONS
Methods and Systems are disclosed for displaying objects between disparate devices connected to an electronic network. One method comprises detecting, by a multimedia device connected to an electronic network, an object in a multimedia stream; determining an identifier associated with the detected object; detecting a mobile device connected to the electronic network, the mobile device being a device other than the multimedia device; and generating a display of the detected object at the detected mobile device.
Display apparatus for providing content in connection with user terminal and method therefor
An embodiment according to the present disclosure provides a display apparatus including a display, an audio output interface, a memory, a communication interface configured to connect to a terminal of a user, and a processor configured to output, via at least one of the display or the audio output interface, content stored in the memory or received through the communication interface, determine a position of the terminal to which the communication interface is connected, determine whether the position of the terminal is outside of a viewing area, and based on determining that the position of the terminal is outside of the viewing area, output the content to the terminal.
Apparatus, system and method for promoting apps to smart devices
Apparatus, system and method for promoting media apps to an end user of a smart device. The smart device gathers information of apps that have been installed into the smart device and provides this information to a remote server. The remote server compares the information sent by the smart device to an identification of promoted apps received from a remote source to identify apps that are not installed in the smart device that are included in the identification of promoted apps. The remote server then notifies the smart device of which apps in the identification of promoted apps are not installed into the smart device, so that a user of the smart device may choose to have the missing app installed.
Systems and methods for a customized media access user experience with privacy settings
A method of controlling the operating mode of a remote device based upon a local user preference setting includes determining a user privacy setting by a user at a local device and storing the user privacy setting. The user privacy setting is conveyed to the remote device and the operational mode of the remote device is modified based upon the transmitted user privacy preference setting. The operational mode of the remote device is returned to the normal operational mode upon meeting a predetermined condition.
Set-top box with enhanced behavioral controls and system and method for use of same
A set-top box with enhanced behavioral controls and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, a wireless transceiver is located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a signal input, a signal output, a processor, and memory. The set-top box may pair with an electronic door locking apparatus coupled to a door that is room-collocated with the set-top box in a hospitality establishment. The set-top box may then reprogram the electronic door locking apparatus as well as control amenities, such as a display, in response to presence signal from the electronic door locking apparatus.
