MEDIA CLIP CREATION AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS, APPARATUS, AND METHODS
Various embodiments for creating media clips are disclosed. In one example, a method is performed by a server for managing the creation and distribution of media clips, where the server associates a content capture device with an event, the content capture device for recording at least a portion of the event, receives a tag notification from a content tagging device via a network interface, generates a media clip creation command to the content capture device via the network interface, sends the media clip creation command to the content capture device, and receives a media clip created by the content capture device in response to receiving the media clip creation command.
Mobile terminal and video display apparatus
A mobile terminal has a communication processing unit that transmits, to a video display apparatus for displaying a broadcasted video content, a request for setting a viewing schedule of the video content. A storage unit stores a starting time of the video content for which the setting of the viewing schedule has been requested; and an information provision unit provides information to a user of the mobile terminal. A control unit determines whether the video display apparatus is existent around the mobile terminal. At a first predetermined time before the starting time, the information provision unit notifies the user of the first predetermined time. If the video display apparatus is not existent around the mobile terminal at a second predetermined time before the starting time, the information provision unit then notifies the user that it is the second predetermined time before the starting time.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRAINING COGNITIVE SKILLS UTILIZING DATA ADDITION TO VIDEOS
A cognitive skill development method and system for training users in various fields wherein data is added to a video and the video is played on a user device in accordance with such data. Video interruption techniques such as video occlusion are used to interrupt the video. The user is then presented with questions corresponding to the video and the user's response to such questions is solicited and recorded.
Image-based techniques for stabilizing positioning estimates
A device implementing a system for estimating device location includes at least one processor configured to receive a first estimated position of the device at a first time. The at least one processor is further configured to capture, using an image sensor of the device, images during a time period defined by the first time and a second time, and determine, based on the images, a second estimated position of the device, the second estimated position being relative to the first estimated position. The at least one processor is further configured to receive a third estimated position of the device at the second time, and estimate a location of the device based on the second estimated position and the third estimated position.
Orientation Based, Aspect Ratio Switching Video Playback System
An orientation based, aspect-ratio switching video playback system selects from multiple video streams having corresponding content to automatically match the orientation of the device and play a version of the video filmed, produced and formatted for that orientation. Orientation changes may occur at any time during playback. When an orientation change is detected, the video playback system stores the current playback time, switches to the video stream optimized for the new orientation, and resumes playback from the stored playback time. Switching may be performed automatically and seamlessly to enable the viewer to continue watching the video in the new orientation, at the optimal aspect ratio for such orientation, using the full screen area without clipping any video content, and without interruption.
MULTIMEDIA CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A multimedia content management system includes a mobile computing device and a backend server. The mobile computing device includes a memory programmed with a mobile application, a processor module, a wireless communication module configured to communicate over a wireless communication link, and a first multimedia device configured to capture a first video and a second video. The mobile application is configured to transmit the first video and the second video over the wireless communication link via the wireless communication module. The backend server is communicably coupled to the mobile computing device via the wireless communications link and configured to execute a persistent internet accessible request protocol for receiving, updating, and storing transmitted videos. The multimedia content management system is useful for hosting and remotely managing multimedia content.
Learning activity duration for providing content during activity
Methods and systems are described for recognizing an activity and providing content for consumption during the activity. The methods and systems use an activity engine to learn a duration of an activity by receiving input with a start cue indicating a start of an activity and receiving input with a stop cue indicating an end of the activity. The activity engine determines an average or estimated duration for the activity based on the time difference between the start cue and the stop cue so that when the activity engine receives a third input and identifies the start cue, a content curation engine identifies one or more content items with a total runtime substantially similar to the average or estimated duration for the activity and provides the content for consumption.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEDIA CONTENT HAND-OFF BASED ON TYPE OF BUFFERED DATA
Systems and methods are disclosed for handing off media content. A media player client receives a request to transfer a media stream, which is playing on a first media device, to a second media device. In response to determining that the second media device comprises a larger screen than the first media device, the media player content determines, based on the genre and resolution of the media stream data, whether the media stream data can be transferred, from the first media device to the second media device.
ELECTRIC SHAVER WITH IMAGING CAPABILITY
System and method for improving the shaving experience by providing improved visibility of the skin shaving area. A digital camera is integrated with the electric shaver for close image capturing of shaving area, and displaying it on a display unit. The display unit can be integral part of the electric shaver casing, or housed in a separated device which receives the image via a communication channel. The communication channel can be wireless (using radio, audio or light) or wired, such as dedicated cabling or using powerline communication. A light source is used to better illuminate the shaving area. Video compression and digital image processing techniques are used for providing for improved shaving results. The wired communication medium can simultaneously be used also for carrying power from the electric shaver assembly to the display unit, or from the display unit to the electric shaver.
CREATIVE INTENT SCALABILITY VIA PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING
Creative intent input describing emotion expectations and narrative information relating to media content is received. Expected physiologically observable states relating to the media content are generated based on the creative intent input. An audiovisual content signal with the media content and media metadata comprising the physiologically observable states is provided to a playback apparatus. The audiovisual content signal causes the playback device to use physiological monitoring signals to determine, with respect to a viewer, assessed physiologically observable states relating to the media content and generate, based on the expected physiologically observable states and the assessed physiologically observable states, modified media content to be rendered to the viewer.
