COMMUNICATION SYSTEM WITH PRE-CODED SUBROUTINES FOR A VEHICLE

A communication system for a vehicle includes an assistance mode for communication between a user of the vehicle and a remote assistance unit. The assistance mode is activable during a concerning situation. The assistance mode includes multiple pre-coded subroutines selectively executable to provide audio instruction and video instruction to the user, via a display in the vehicle. The multiple pre-coded subroutines are triggered by the remote assistance unit. Operating the assistance mode includes relaying of selected data from the vehicle to the remote assistance unit. The selected data includes actions performed by the user. The assistance mode is activable by at least one of the remote assistance unit, the user via the user interface, and the vehicle. The communication system may include a controller adapted to at least partially execute the assistance mode.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND SECURING AN ENCLOSURE OF A VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR OF AN AIRCRAFT
20170316664 · 2017-11-02 · ·

The aim of the invention is to optimise the monitoring and security of at least one enclosure, allowing a constant and complete view of the enclosure, and a modulated assessment of the state of security of same. For this purpose, the invention proposes to transmit images of the enclosure wirelessly to a mobile medium for helping the flight crew assess the situation and the measures to take in case of a sensitive security situation. According to one embodiment, the optimised system for monitoring and securing an enclosure, a cockpit (3), a cabin (2) and/or a luggage hold (4) of an aircraft (1), comprises video cameras (21a to 23a, 21 b to 23b, 24 to 28) distributed so as to define a field of view inside or outside the enclosure (2 to 4), mobile (2T) or fixed (3A) display media dedicated to members of the crew of the enclosure capable, via suitable wireless transmission/reception means (20A), of receiving image streams transmitted by the video cameras (21a to 23a, 21b to 23b, 24 to 28) and of connecting to auxiliary data sources and to means for locking/unlocking (7 to 10, 41) the enclosure (2 to 4) arranged in areas sensitive with respect to security.

CENTRALIZED CONTENT ACCESS MANAGEMENT

A media content management server is configured to receive, from a first remote server, first metadata associated with a first set of content items, the first metadata representing a first parameter for each of the first set of content items in a first data format, and further to receive, from a second remote server, second metadata associated with a second set of content items, the second metadata representing a second parameter for each of the second set of content items in a second data format different than the first data format. Reformatted metadata is generated by reformatting the first parameter and the second parameter to a common data format. Rules engine circuitry is configured to generate a data transfer package by comparing the reformatted first and second parameters to content access rule data to determine subsets of content items for inclusion in the data transfer package.

METHOD OF AUDIO/VIDEO BROADCAST PLAY OUT HANDOVER AND CORRESPONDING APPARATUS

Handover of broadcast audio/video content from a first/source device via an intermediate device to a second/destination device. The intermediate device is set up to receive by its own means the same broadcast audio/video content as received by the first/source device. If interruption of play out of the audio/video content by the first/source device is detected by the intermediate device, the intermediate device stores the received audio/video broadcast in timeshift memory. When a presence of the second/destination is detected, the intermediate device connects to the second/destination device and starts timeshifted streaming to the second/destination device.

USER INTERFACE APPARATUS FOR VEHICLES AND VEHICLE HAVING THE SAME

Disclosed herein is a user interface apparatus for vehicles including light sources, a touch sensor to sense touch, light guides to transfer light generated by the light sources, and a top cover to cover the light sources, the touch sensor and the light guides and to transmit light emitted from the light guides to the interior of a vehicle. The light sources includes a first light source and at least one second light sources, the light guides includes first and second light guides to receive light generated by the first light source and to transfer the light to first and second regions and at least one third light guide configured to receive light generated by the at least one second light source and to transfer the light to a third region, and light generated by the first light source is dispersed and provided to the first and second light guides.

An information processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus executing an information processing method comprising: receiving a request of image data from an external terminal; specifying, based on the request, a vehicle that provides image capturing data to generate the image data; specifying a parameter concerning a communication path to be used by the specified vehicle to transmit the image capturing data to the information processing apparatus; and transmitting the specified parameter to the specified vehicle.

System and method for multipath communication management in an aircraft

Disclosed is a method and seat centric device for providing data over a plurality of communication channels inside an aircraft. In one aspect, the method comprises obtaining storage information of data from one or more aircraft servers and a request for subset of data from a seat centric device. The method further comprises, identifying location of the subset of data in at least one of the one or more aircraft servers based on an analysis of the request the storage information data and an available communication channels between the seat centric device and the aircraft server. Furthermore, the method comprises initializing a multipath protocol for transfer of the subset of data associated with the request between the aircraft server and the seat centric device and initiating data transfer associated with the request simultaneously over the available communication channels for providing the subset of data to seat centric device.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTHENTICATING APPLICATIONS TO ON-BOARD SERVICES
20170295154 · 2017-10-12 ·

Techniques for authenticating client applications to services and/or applications that are provided within an environment that may become disconnected, as a whole, from other networks (e.g., on-board a vehicle) may include receiving an indication of a local service that may be provided within the dis-connectable environment, and authenticating/registering the local service. A request for service(s) may be received from a client application within the dis-connectable environment, and the client application may be authenticated/authorized to access one or more local services. An indication of a session key may be provided to the local service provider and to the authenticated/authorized client application for use in establishing a secure connection therebetween, thereby providing the client application access to the registered local service. The access control data utilized for authentication/authorization may be locally available within the environment (even when the environment is disconnected), and may be synchronized with master access control data.
