System for creating a souvenir for a user attending an event
A video presentation device is disclosed. The video presentation device comprises an electronic module including a microcontroller and a memory adapted for storing digital content, a communication link adapted to communicatively couple the electronic module with a host server, to receive multimedia digital content from the host server upon command from the host server, and a video display for playing the multimedia digital content upon command of the electronic module.
Securely paired delivery of activation codes from smart card to remote client set-top box
Described herein are systems and methods for hardware enforcement of hardware functionality in a client television receiver. An activation message containing an activation code for a specific hardware component within the client television receiver can be transmitted from a television service provider system to a host television receiver having an associated smart card. The smart card can decrypt the activation message, identify the client television receiver as the destination of the activation message, security check the activation message, encrypt the activation message with a local key, and transmit the activation message to a security processor on the client television receiver. The security processor can decrypt the activation message, security check the activation message to ensure it is from the smart card and has not been tampered with, and enable the hardware component within the client television receiver based on the activation code within the activation message.
Securely paired delivery of activation codes from smart card to host set-top box
Described herein are systems and methods for hardware enforcement of hardware functionality in a television receiver. An activation message containing an activation code for a specific hardware component within the television receiver can be transmitted from a television service provider system to a television receiver having an associated smart card. The smart card can decrypt the activation message, security check the activation message, confirm the activation message is intended for the television receiver, encrypt the activation message with a local key, and transmit the activation message to a security processor on the television receiver. The security processor can decrypt the activation message, security check the activation message to ensure it is from the smart card and has not been tampered with, and enable the hardware component within the television receiver based on the activation code within the activation message.
Method and apparatus for supporting multiple broadcasters independently using a single conditional access system
A method and apparatus for brokering the enablement of the communication of encrypted media programs from a plurality of independent broadcasters to a plurality of receivers is disclosed. The system makes use of a pairing key for each provided service, which is differently encrypted by a pairing server and by the broadcaster providing the service. The encrypted versions of the pairing key are decrypted in a first receiver module using information known to the pairing service but not the broadcaster and in a second receiver module using information known to the broadcaster. The pairing key is used to cryptographically bind the first and second receiver modules.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR SELECTING CONTENT BASED ON TIME OF DAY
An electronic apparatus including a control circuit that controls access to content and determines an operation mode of the electronic apparatus, and a monitoring circuit that monitors the access to the content, acquires content access information, and generates a table. The control circuit causes each of the content access information acquired by the monitoring circuit and the table generated by the monitoring circuit to be stored in a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium of the electronic apparatus. The monitoring circuit can update the content access parameters as additional content access information is acquired, and when the control circuit determines that the electronic apparatus is in an active mode, the control circuit can refer to the table and select, when access parameters of the active mode match the updated content access parameters, a current content to be output from the electronic apparatus.
CONTENT DISTRIBUTION DEVICE
A content distribution device includes a communication component and a controller. The communication component communicates with an access point device having a plurality of identifiers. The controller sets a distribution related condition related to a distribution of content for each of the identifiers.
REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND OUTPUT DEVICE
A reproducing device includes a reproducer that reproduces a content, a communicator that establishes a direct wireless connection to an information terminal, and a controller. The controller determines whether the information terminal is a previously permitted information terminal or not when the communicator receives a content reproduction request from the information terminal through wireless connection. The controller performs first control to power on the reproducer, and issues an instruction to perform the content reproduction to the reproducer, when it is determined that the information terminal is the previously permitted information terminal, and when the reproducer is powered off. The controller does not perform the first control when it is determined that the information terminal is not the previously permitted information terminal.
Method to identify the origin of a security module in pay-TV decoder system
A method to identify the origin of a security module in a pay-tv system comprising: receiving by the pay-tv decoder system at least a first stream, a second stream and a control word stream, the first and second streams being encrypted by a first and a second control word, respectively, extracting from the control word stream, entitlement messages containing a main control word allowing retrieval of the first and second control words and access conditions, transferring the control word stream to the security module and checking the access conditions, selecting a current control word from the first or second control word based on part of the internal parameter, transmitting the current control word to the pay-tv decoder, selecting a current stream from the first or second stream in accordance with the selection of the first or second control word, and decrypting the current stream with the current control word.
