In a video signal transmission system using fiber optic cable, an improved optical transceiver module (fiber module) having integrated video signal processing capabilities can be used in video signal transmitters for video sources, video signal receivers for display devices, or video switching devices. The improved fiber module has a form factor complying with the Small Form-factor Pluggable standard, and a standard optical fiber connector. In addition to an optical transceiver, the improved fiber modules includes a ¼ inch signal processing chip programmed to perform video signal processing. The mainboard of the video signal transmitter or receiver or the video switching device has additional signal processing chips for processing non-video signals such as audio, data, network, RS-232, and IR remote control signals, but they do not perform video signal processing. Another embodiment is a fiber optic cable with an electrical signal connector module that integrates a video signal processing chip.

A method, process and devices, both low tech and high tech that when coupled together provides event goers and in-home viewers interaction and participation with video and audio content broadcast in a venue or payed in a private home. Venue and in-home individuals are provided and instructed to download an application to their mobile device and utilize a bag of objects they have been provided. During the broadcast/stream, the event goers or in-home viewer's mobile device will detect a distinctive part of the broadcast/stream and prompt them to use an object from their bag to participate and interact with the scene being broadcast/streamed.

Methods and systems for management of a processing offloader

Introduced here are systems to manage and discover a processing offloader. A first multimedia device may identify a processing offloader in a networked environment. A first multimedia device may determine that a bandwidth of a second multimedia device in the networked environment falls below a threshold bandwidth, indicating that the second multimedia device may process instructions and render multimedia information with increased latency or delay. Based on this determination, the first multimedia device may forward instructions from the second multimedia device to the processing offloader for the processing offloader to process and render multimedia information on behalf of the second multimedia device based on the received instructions. The first multimedia device may forward rendered multimedia information from the processing offloader to the second multimedia device, and the second multimedia device may output the rendered multimedia information to an output device.

A physical adapter receives a data stream comprising data usable to derive a rendition of a signal at a first level of quality and reconstruction data produced by processing a rendition of the signal at a second, higher level of quality and indicating how to reconstruct the rendition at the second level of quality using the rendition at the first level of quality. The physical adapter reconstructs the rendition at the second level of quality and outputs the reconstructed rendition and/or data derived from the reconstructed rendition. The physical adapter is connectable to signal processing equipment that outputs the data usable to derive the rendition at the first level of quality. The physical adapter increases the quality of the rendition of the signal relative to the first level of quality and enhances the functionality of the signal processing equipment.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, REPRODUCTION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND REPRODUCTION PROCESSING METHOD

Provided are an information processing apparatus, a reproduction processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a reproduction processing method that can easily provide a viewing experience that meets the needs of a viewer. A data acquiring unit (101) acquires a content including a plurality of component streams. A file generating unit (105) generates content random access point (RAP) information indicating random access points of the content on the basis of random access points of the component streams of the content that has been acquired by the data acquiring unit (101).

A display apparatus, including a display; an interface configured to couple with a dongle, wherein the dongle and the display apparatus are configured to use different operating systems; a user input device; and at least one processor configured to, based on receiving a first execution image of an application from the dongle, display the first execution image on an area of the display, based on receiving a user operation at a point within the area, convert first coordinate information representing a location of the point relative to the display into second coordinate information representing the location of the point relative to the area, and transmit the second coordinate information to the dongle, and based on receiving a second execution image of the application from the dongle, display the second execution image, wherein the second execution image is generated by the dongle based on the second coordinate information.

Transmitters and receivers for transmission of video and other signals by fiber optic cable
11277593 · 2022-03-15 · ·

A video signal transmitter or receiver for handling multiple video signals, including mainboard signal processing circuitry, one master fiber module, and one or more add-on fiber modules. Video data signal for the multiple videos are transmitted over the master and add-on fiber modules, but no video control signal is transmitted over any add-on fiber module. Video control signal for all of the multiple videos are transmitted on a first subset of channels of the master fiber module in a multiplexed manner. The mainboard signal processing circuitry cooperates with the signal processing chip of the master fiber module to process all video control signals, with the master fiber module processing video control signals for at least two videos. Non-video signals are processed by the mainboard circuitry and transmitted on a second subset of channels of the master fiber module (same as or different from the first subset of channels).
