SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DYNAMICALLY PROVIDING PERSONALIZED TELEVISION SHOWS

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method that includes obtaining, by a processing system including a processor, a user profile for a user of a media service, and selecting, in accordance with the user profile, program components for inclusion in a media program to be presented via the media service. The method also includes generating the media program using the selected program components, and presenting the media program at equipment of the user. The method also includes obtaining sensor data associated with the user, and determining a user engagement level during presentation of the media program, based on the sensor data. The method further includes adjusting at least one of the program components responsive to the user engagement level, thereby generating a modified media program for presentation to the user. Other embodiments are disclosed.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR PROVIDING CONTENTS IN CONNECTION WITH EXTERNAL ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF THE SAME

An electronic device includes a camera, a communication circuit, and at least one processor configured to receive, via the communication circuit, information related to content reproduced by an external display device, obtain, by the camera, a first image including the external display device, based on the external display device being identified to be outside of an identifiable range of the camera, generate a virtual object corresponding to the external display device, obtain the content reproduced by the external display device, based on the information related to the content reproduced by the external display device, and reproduce the obtained content within an area of the virtual object.

Method and apparatus for optimizing advertisement placement

A system and method for scheduling at least one advertisement for presentation in connection with at least one media program is presented. In one embodiment, the method comprises determining a measure of engagement of at least a portion of the at least one media program, selecting the at least one advertisement from the plurality of advertisements based at least in part upon the determined measure of engagement of the at least a portion of the media program, and scheduling the selected advertisement for presentation in connection with the selected at least one advertisement.

Ultra-wideband control of smart streaming devices

Systems and methods for controlling a smart streaming device are disclosed herein. The smart streaming device is controlled based on a position of an ultra-wideband (UWB) device. Based on the position of the UWB device, one or more service events for the smart streaming device can be conducted. For example, a privacy mode of the smart streaming device can be enabled or disabled based on the position of the UWB device. In another example, a distance can be determined between the smart streaming device and the position of the UWB device. Based on the distance, an output configuration of the smart streaming device can be set, such as dynamically adjusting volume or text size on the smart streaming device.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NON-INTRUSIVE HEALTH MONITORING IN THE HOME

A hand-held device, such as a remote control, is provided for operation of a consumer appliance and is equipped with one or more biometric sensors to capture and report on the health condition of a user of the hand-held device. The data captured by such a hand-held device may be evaluated locally in the hand-held device itself or may be conveyed to a target consumer appliance either for local evaluation by that consumer appliance or for onward transmission to a central off-site monitoring service.

Method for operating image display device

In an operation method of an image display device receiving a broadcast signal, interworking with an interworking device, and including a display unit, an event related to the broadcast signal or an event occurring from the interworking device is obtained. Related applications are recommended on the basis of at least one of the obtained events through the display unit.

DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME

A display device includes a display for displaying at least one piece of content, a user input interface for receiving a signal from a remote control device, and a controller for controlling operation of the display device. The controller performs control to display a video of first content in an overall area of a first layer of a screen, to display a first on screen display (OSD) window having predetermined first transparency in a first area of a second layer of the screen upon receiving a first OSD window output request signal, and to change the first transparency to predetermined second transparency when a pointer is located in the first area of the second layer of the screen.

Distraction bookmarks for live and recorded video

Systems and methods for tagging media content may include detecting a distraction event during presentation of a media content via a display device, creating a digital bookmark for the media content, whereby the digital bookmark corresponds to the detected distraction event, and outputting a user interface for presenting the digital bookmark through the display device.

Unobtrusively enhancing video content with extrinsic data

The playback of video content upon a display is enhanced through the unobtrusive presentation of extrinsic data upon the same display. A video content feature is rendered on a display. It is determined whether to present extrinsic data relevant to a current time in the video content feature based at least in part on appearance control metadata. A graphical element presenting at least a portion of the extrinsic data is rendered on the display while the video content feature is also being rendered on the display in response to determining to present the extrinsic data.

AUTONOMOUS COLLECTION OF MULTIMEDIA EVENTS FOR PRESENTATION

The disclosed technology is directed towards collecting data, including multimedia content, for creating a multimedia presentation associated with an event being experienced by a user. Location data of a user's mobile device can be used to determine availability of sensor(s) within a proximity of the mobile device, along with one or more multimedia sensor of the mobile device. The user can select a source group of the available sensors to obtain data from them, including multimedia content such as camera video and microphone audio feeds. The sensor data received from the selected sensor source group is used, optionally along with previously recorded multimedia content, to create and output the multimedia presentation associated with the event. The user can add annotations including user input and the previously recorded multimedia content for inclusion in the multimedia presentation.
