Remote Playback Queue
Systems, methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to facilitate discovery and remote configuration of content for playback via a multimedia playback network are disclosed. An example method includes facilitating identification of multimedia content being played, the identification including at least one of a content identifier associated with the content and the content itself. An example method includes relaying at least one of the content identifier and the content to a playback system located remotely from a location of the multimedia content playback, at least one of the content identifier and the content remotely added for playback at the playback system.

TV CONTROL SYSTEM AND TV CONTROL DEVICE SUITABLE THEREFOR
A TV control system includes: a TV control device which generates a viewing distance detection value and an illumination level detection value, inputs a setting value transmitted from the smart phone, and transmits a human body distance detection value, the illumination level detection value, the setting value, and a control signal to the smart TV; the smart TV which receives the viewing distance detection value, the illumination level detection value, and the setting value transmitted from the TV control device, and changes a distance and time setting value in response to the control signal; the smart phone which generates a control signal for changing distance information and a control signal for changing time setting and transmits the control signals to the TV control device; and a router which is connected to the smart phone and the TV control device through a communication network.
Playback Queues for Shared Experiences
A first playback device, while operating in a first media playback system, receives from a computing device over a WAN an indication that a second playback device operating in a second media playback system has initiated sharing of a playback session. The first playback device transmits a request to join the playback session, and then receives, from the computing device over the WAN, playback session information including indications of (i) one or more media items in a queue designated for playback by the second playback device and (ii) a playback position of the second playback device within the one or more media items. The first playback device retrieves, from a media service, the one or more media items in the queue designated for playback by the second playback device. The first playback device then plays back the one or more media items beginning at the playback position.
Intelligent Remote Control
A content access device and system may allow portable remote devices to be paired with a variety of different devices, allowing remote control through a network connection. Content access devices may expose application program interfaces, allowing incoming network traffic to control operation of the device much in the same way that a local infrared remote would. Routing content commands through an external application server may also yield other benefits, such as allowing more customized selection of information and advertising content to users based on their viewing history.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING RECORDING OF A BLACKED-OUT MEDIA CONTENT ITEM
Systems and associated methods are described for providing recording of a blacked out media content item. A system receives a request from a first user device associated with a profile to record a media content item scheduled to broadcast on a second user device (different from the first user device) associated with the profile, at a second location. The system determines that the media content item is subject to a blackout during a blackout period within a blackout region. The system determines that the first user device and the second user device are associated with the same profile and that the first user device is at a first location outside the blackout region. The system then accesses the media content item for recording on the second user device during the blackout period. The system further transmits the recorded media content item to the first user device after expiry of the blackout period.
REAL WORLD BEACONS INDICATING VIRTUAL LOCATIONS
Techniques are described for facilitating the coordination of audio video (AV) production using multiple actors in respective locations that are remote from each other, such that an integrated AV product can be generated by coordinating the activities of multiple remote actors in concert with one another. A director can indicate in the virtual world a desired location of a stage prop, and a beacon may then be transmitted toward a real world location corresponding to the desired location to aid in placement of the prop.
Communication system including information processing apparatus and image processing apparatus, and information processing apparatus thereof, and storage medium that allow displaying of information associated with verified user authentication information
Provided is an information processing apparatus and a control method thereof. The apparatus includes a user interface unit that accepts an operation made by a user and a wireless communication unit that communicates wirelessly with an information terminal. A user authentication is executed in response to a user authentication request from the information terminal via the wireless communication unit. In the event of the authentication succeeding, a screen displayed by the user interface unit is not switched in the case where there is a logged-in user who has been authenticated through the user interface unit in response to the user authentication request, whereas the screen displayed by the user interface unit is switched in the case where there is no such logged-in user.
Gateway for transporting out-of-band messaging signals
A Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) having a gateway configured to output signals on over data tunnels for transfer over a cable network to Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). Each data tunnel is preferably characterized as a one-way data stream of out-of-band (OOB) messaging signals.
