Intelligent remote control
A content access device and system may allow portable remote devices to be paired with a variety of different devices, allowing remote control through a network connection. Content access devices may expose application program interfaces, allowing incoming network traffic to control operation of the device much in the same way that a local infrared remote would. Routing content commands through an external application server may also yield other benefits, such as allowing more customized selection of information and advertising content to users based on their viewing history.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING ACCESS TO MEDIA ASSETS USING TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION
Systems and methods for authorizing operations associated with blocked media assets using two-factor authentication. In some aspects, a media guidance application (e.g., executed by a set-top box or other user equipment used to store and display media assets) prompts a user for a password (e.g., a personal information number) in order to unlock the content for viewing. In response to receiving a second request from the user to perform an operation related to the media asset (e.g., delete), the media guidance application prompts the user for an additional factor confirming his or her identity, consistent with two-factor authentication protocol. If the user's identity is authenticated as a user that has authority to perform the operation related to the media asset (e.g., delete the stored media asset), the media guidance application performs the operation related to the media asset (e.g., deletes the media asset).
Streaming and synchronization of media
Some aspects include a method for synchronizing at least two devices, including: connecting the at least two devices using an application executed on each of the at least two devices, wherein: a same media is executed in synchronization by the at least two devices using the application; and an input received by the application executed on a first device of the at least two devices actuates a same response on the at least two devices.
MEDIA DISTRIBUTION & MANAGEMENT SYSTEM & APPARATUS
A Unified Content Delivery Network system (UCDN) system which is formed from a network of one or more inter-operable Peer networks.
A hierarchical hybrid adaptive Secure Peer-Assisted Networking System (termed SPAN-AI),using a hierarchical AI driven approach under a unified secure content-addressable architecture which is based on five key SPAN-AI sub systems: unified naming; unified discovery; hybrid adaptive routing; scalable pubsub; and embedded security; all of said five key SPAN-AI sub systems securely integrated and jointly optimized via a hierarchical, pluggable AI framework, with an associated simulation, training, and development pipeline that embeds AI agents with varying degrees of awareness and optimization capabilities at peer, edge, or core or other network levels (hierarchies).

Methods and apparatus for integrating media across a wide area network
A system for distributing media includes a wide area network (WAN), a media player coupled to the WAN at a first home, and a media server coupled to the WAN at a second home for providing media. A service is coupled to the WAN for receiving a request for media from the media player and for establishing a connection between the first and second homes over the WAN. Media is streamed across the WAN from the second home to the first home. The system may include a storage device coupled to the media player where media is transferred across the WAN for storage at the storage device. A media device may be coupled to the media player for playing the streamed/transferred media where the media player and the media device may comprise a television, stereo, or computer and the media item may comprise video, photographs, or audio.

Systems and methods for modifying control of a device within a vehicle
Systems and methods for modifying control over a device in a vehicle are provided. The modification may comprise disabling an ability of a passenger to control the device via one or more passenger interface systems, limiting controls available to the passenger via the one or more passenger interface systems, transferring the ability to control the device to another user using a different user interface system, and/or transferring the ability to control certain functionalities of the device to another user using the different user interface system.
Screen recording from a remote device
In some implementations, a first device can record a display screen of a second device remotely. For example, the first device (e.g., a remote computing device) can receive information identifying other computing devices on a network. The first device can receive a selection of one of the other computing devices (e.g., the second device) and send a message to the second device to initiate a recording of the display screen of the second device. In response to receiving the message, the second device can record video frames of images presented on the display of the second device. The second device can send the video frames to the first device for display and/or storage. While recording the images presented on the display screen, the second device can present indicia on the display screen of the second device indicating that a screen recording is in progress.
