Multimedia Distribution System
A multimedia file and methods of generating, distributing and using the multimedia file are described. Multimedia files in accordance with embodiments of the present invention can contain multiple video tracks, multiple audio tracks, multiple subtitle tracks, a complete index that can be used to locate each data chunk in each of these tracks and an abridged index that can enable the location of a subset of the data chunks in each track, data that can be used to generate a menu interface to access the contents of the file and meta data concerning the contents of the file. Multimedia files in accordance with several embodiments of the present invention also include references to video tracks, audio tracks, subtitle tracks and meta data external to the file. One embodiment of a multimedia file in accordance with the present invention includes a series of encoded video frames, a first index that includes information indicative of the location within the file and characteristics of each encoded video frame and a separate second index that includes information indicative of the location within the file of a subset of the encoded video frames.
Recording and reproducing data based on conversion of data format
Provided is an information processing device including an application execution unit configured to perform a record data generation process according to a first file system, a second medium compatible file system unit configured to perform a data recording process according to a second file system different from the first file system, and a file conversion processing unit configured to perform a conversion process between a file compatible with the first file system and a file compatible with the second file system.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR EDITING MOVIES IN DISTRIBUTED SCALABLE MEDIA ENVIRONMENT
A movie editor converts a received movie into a proxy format, and creates a texture strip representing the frames of the movie. An editor can use the texture strip to edit the movie, rather than editing the movie directly. Deep tags and/or special effects can be defined for the texture strip using a graphical interface. The graphical interface enables movies to be combined into a playback product according to a control structure graphically presented in the graphical interface.
Storage medium storing a video reproduction controlling program, video reproduction controlling apparatus and video reproduction controlling method
A game apparatus as a video reproduction controlling apparatus includes a CPU, and the CPU executes a reproduction control of a DVD. In the middle of reproducing the DVD, a content such as an video, a voice, etc. are reproduced. In a case that a reproduction operation such as pause, reproduction, fast reverse, fast forward, heading, etc. is not prohibited, in response to an instruction of the reproduced screen displayed on the monitor with a controller, an operation panel for reproduction operation is displayed. On the other hand, while a menu is reproduced or in a case that a screen button is displayed in accordance with the reproduction, the reproduction operation is prohibited, and even if the reproduced screen is instructed with the controller, the operation panel is not displayed.

GENERATION AND USE OF USER-SELECTED SCENES PLAYLIST FROM DISTRIBUTED DIGITAL CONTENT
A digital content package includes first content comprising a video feature such as a motion picture or the like, and a user-selectable application configured to operate as follows. When activated using an icon off of a menu screen, the application records an identifier for scenes (discrete portions) of the first content that are selected by a user to generate a playlist. The user may select the scenes by indicating a start and end of each scene. The application saves the playlist locally, then uploads to a server. Via a user account at the server, a user may publish the playlist to a user-created distribution list, webpage, or other electronic publication, and modify the playlist by deleting or reordering scenes.
VIDEO DISPLAY SYSTEM, VIDEO DISPLAY DEVICE, ITS CONTROL METHOD, AND INFORMATION STORAGE MEDIUM
To provide a video display system for allowing a user to look at and listen to video and sound on various means. A video display system has a video display device and a portable video display device, connected to each other for communication. The video display device produces own device video data and own device sound data to be displayed and reproduced, respectively, on the video display device; displays the own device video data and reproduces the own device sound data; encodes these data into a data format which the portable video display device is able to handle, to thereby produce other device video data and other device sound data; and sends to the portable video display device. The portable video display device receives these data, and decodes and displays the other device video data, and decodes and reproduces the other device sound data.
Wireless content loader for entertainment system
A battery-powered wireless content loader for an entertainment system of a vehicle includes a multi-mode wireless data communications module with at least a first communications mode and a second communications mode. A controller establishes a data link to a remote content server with the multi-mode wireless data communications module to retrieve multimedia content from the remote content server. The controller selects either one or both of the communications modes based at least in part upon an evaluation of availability of an access point for the first communications mode within range. A data storage device stores the retrieved multimedia content. An electrical power storage supplies power in response to the vehicle being powered down. The controller copies the multimedia content stored on the data storage device to a content server of the entertainment system following the electrical system of the vehicle being powered up.
Digital device and control method thereof
The present specification discloses various embodiments for a digital device and a control method thereof. Herein, a control method of a digital device according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: receiving a power-on signal; determining whether an application, which was executed at a power-off time point before the reception of the power-on signal, was an image output application; if it is determined that the application which was executed at the power-off time point was an image output application, loading and executing the image output application; loading and executing a first image control application for controlling an image that is output through the image output application; loading a second image control application; and, when the loading is completed, terminating the first image control application and executing the second image control application.
Recording medium, playback device, and playback method
A recording medium according an aspect of the present disclosure has recorded therein a main video stream where a main video has been encoded, and a sub-video stream where a sub-video, that is to be superimposed on the main video and displayed, has been encoded. The sub-video stream includes bitmap data indicating a design of the sub-video and palette data specifying the display color of the design. The palette data includes first palette data for a first luminance dynamic range (SDR), and second palette data for a second luminance dynamic range (HDR) that is broader than the first dynamic range.
